Hi Annette and all my OFF friends, I'm overwhelmed with how many projects I need to do at home.  By the time I get home at night and make dinner I don't feel like doing anything.  And the more it piles up the more overwhelming it seems. Hubby is due for a knee replacement so all he does is sit and get waited on by ~ you guessed it ~ me.  I'm starting to get in the mood where I'll just throw the offending clutter in the trash.  But then I may throw the baby out with the bath water so to speak.  Of course, I've put the pressure on myself by setting deadlines for myself with asking people over.  Sometimes burning the midnight oil to get something done is my best work.  We'll see . . . Tonight will be our bedroom.  I need to go through clothes and take it to the recycling center (Good Will). I hope all of you are doing well.  My HUGS and PRAYERS to all. Bev

Happy Friday OFF's!

My AC froze up yesterday so I came home to a HOT house....so we lived the old fashioned way with open windows and fans.  Kind of pleasant, actually.  It cooled off nicely overnight.

I had a NSV this morning....I realized I could look down and SEE my FEET after I don't know how long...My belly fat must be going first, which is just dandy with me.

My husband and I will be empty nesters (again) our 23 yr. old son is moving out over the weekend to share an apartment with 2 other bachelors.  I say again because he's our only child but had moved out last year but came back because of roomate/money problems.  I think the timing is much better this time.  Of course we still have 2 dogs living with us.

Have a great weekend everyone, good luck with your garage sale, and whatever activities you all have going on.  As one of my favorite songwriters wrote "The fountain of youth is just a state of mind".

Good Morning Everyone,   I don't seem to be dropping in very much these past weeks do I ? I keep busy and the time flys so to speak.   I also have some feelings of failure to deal with - I'd lost 140 and gained back 15 and finally got the surgeon to send me to another dr who did an endoscope last November, then had to wait till end of April to see him again to get the results... my stoma had stretched to 16cm , it was supposed to be 10 - he figured my surgeon had been too generous and made it about 12 to start. He said my pouch is healthy and is only about 8oz. capacity. Normally they wait till a stoma has gotten to 20cm but because of my still unresolved diabetes he wants to do it now and give me every possible chance to do better.     I'm dreading what's ahead - Monday I go on full liquids, do a full bowel prep too as if I were having a colonoscopy ( beats me why when they're not going near my bottom end ) I will have to be on liquids for 2 weeks, then pureed and semi- solid foods for 4 weeks (800-1000 calories) , then 4 months of regular things (850 calories)..... so in other words It's back to square one.  On Tuesday they'll do the procedure through an endoscope and use a tool called the BARD Endo Cinch to put stitches and pleats in the stoma. I do not have to stay overnight , but it'll sure kill a whole day and then some as it's not  being done till 1 pm. They told me the anesthesia is a bit deeper than when  they do a normal scope, and I have to take it easy for about 3 days after and then no lifting over 10 lbs for 6 weeks.    I sure hope this is will work.... I'm looking on it as my one and only "do over". If I can get a significant amount more of weight off perhaps my diabetes will finally abate... yes I know some say once you're  a diabetic you're always one  but  maybe I can be one who doesn't have to take meds, and one who stands a better chance of not losing any limbs or going blind or have kidney failure down the road..... I've been diabetic since 1987, using insulin since 1993.... am still taking pills for, diabetes, bp, cholesterol, edema, and thyroid .  Getting into smaller clothes, looking and feeling better  is icing on the cake.... I just want to live a normal life span without all those medical complications .... I've got this great (new) husband John whom I want to live a long long time with.... Ok, enough said - hope I've explained it all well enough.

Hi Annette and everyone: I had my yearly physical with my PCP ... was supposed to get fasting bloodwork drawn too for my yearly bariatric checkup at the lab, but the MMPC lab at my PCP said they couldn't do one of the labs on the slip ... funny they did it last year! They said I had to take it to Spectrum (hospital) ... so there I was, with lunch plans with a friend at 11:15 ... it was 11 and I hadn't eaten and had planned to get this bloodwork done. I was ticked off to say the least. I went to the restaurant to meet Mary Kay and told her the dilemma; then said, screw this, let's eat. I'm going to get up tomorrow and get dressed, go to the lab and have it done with. I'm just angry they didn't tell me this earlier, I could have had it done on Monday or Tuesday, but they said they could do this there, until this morning when the lab tech said they couldn't. The doc wants to do an ultrasound of my gallbladder, just in case, he says, because I've been having some belly pain off and on for about six months. It could just be my IBS, but he wants to make sure. On the leg swelling, he's still not sure what caused that; he wants me to try cutting back on the diuretic to every other day. My weight is holding steady, which is good. I don't think I'm going to lose much more. Everything else looks good; I guess I'm healthy. Just have a lot of pain issues.  Well, I guess that's all for now. Today's the Cubs-Sox game ... Go Sox!

Well. . . my day  did not start off so great. I was at the apartment putting a few things away. It's up a flight of stairs so we are just taking what we absolutely have to. I had put my cell phone on my belt (hooked it on! Who would have thought it possible 3 years ago?) Now I need a belt to hold my pants up. . . .bent over to pick something off the floor and plop! The phone's in the toilet! Still doesn't work, probably won't even when it dries out. Mike did the same thing several years ago dropping the phone in his hot foot bath. . . . Glad I didn't give him too bad a time when he did.  His comment to me today: "Chit happens!"  Thank goodness the water was clean.

Anyway, everything else is going well. Nathan comes home today to help move the heavy stuff to the apartment. That's about all that is left. We can handle the food stuff, towels, etc.  We have a friend who will help Nathan move the couch and beds and two dressers. Only taking two paintings that we don't want to put in storage and a wall pic of the twins that we HAVE to have with us. I'm taking a little portable sewing machine in case I want to make anything before October. Erin wants me to make the girls a "tiger" sleeping bag or sleeper that they can wear to their dad's football games this fall.  Orange and black fleece I'm looking for. I think little orange hooded sweatshirts with a little striped sleeping bag with velcro suspenders perhaps? Shouldn't be too hard and they can wear it at night time this winter too to stay warm.

I've been up since about 3am. Too many thing going on in my head. Lots of change of addresses. Got most of those done way early by writing form letters. Windows arrive for the house next week, cabinets are ordered, gas fireplace is in, sheetrocking starts next week.

Think I'll try to catch 30 before Nate arrives. You all have a great weekend.
