What's New FRIDAY?

I'm up, showered, partially dressed, and drinking my carmel truffle decaf. Woke up about 5:45, got up and made a trip to the bathroom, and went back to bed until 6:30. Changing up my routine a little - I was exercising early in the a.m., now I am doing it around 4 p.m. cause that's when I start wanting to graze and by golly it's working....I'm up to 35 min. on the bike and 4.6 miles. I ice my knee after the exercise and it's feeling pretty good.
Anxious to get back to the pool tho' -- maybe next week.

It's dark this morning, maybe we're in for some rain....it's been a few days now. Warmed up yesterday too and is supposed to be in the high 70's today. My DS and DIL are on their way to the U.P. of Michigan....darn, wish I was going too.....it's my favorite place to vacation. Her folks live up there so they're taking a long weekend. With DS's new business he can't take a lot of time off.

I have four step-grandchildren. I'v e been their granny since they were born. The second oldest just graduated from H.S. and her party is Sunday -- well, I WASN'T even invited == that really hurts. Granted I don't see them much, but do try to keep in touch and I've always done a lot for them.....this is my reward!! Can you tell I'm hurt??

Got the new vinyl in my master bathroom yesterday and it looks so nice. Now if I can just get the guy to come and put up my new light fixture in there, it will be done. He's doing it for free, so I have to wait until he's available.

Hope you all have a blessed weekend.

Pat R.

Pat, I am so sorry about the graduation party for your step grand daughter. I know that hurts and it hurts a lot. Sometimes in the rush of things going on things get overlooked and I don't think that they meant to hurt you. Again I am so sorry for the hurt that your feeling. Know that you are loved very much.

that tells what kind of life you have lived.

pat ; i would be very hurt as well by the neglected party invitation.....as someone said, perhaps it was simply an oversight or maybe they are presuming you will be there?????

No it wasn't an oversight, it was because a certain teenager didn't send the invitations out. If they're presuming I'll be there, that's a laugh, I don't even know where the party is being held, what time, or anything else.

I'm done trying to be nice.......'nuf said!

No invite, no gift ... that's my motto. When they wonder where the gift is, ask where the invite was.

T.G.I.F. Annette and Everyone, It's nice to see you get to spend some time with your grandson, Annette.  I think the one-on-one time is the most special!  Sounds like a great idea to get your support groups together, too. Nothing much for me today.  I'm up early this morning.  Got up to take the dreaded crushed pills and have stayed up.  They aren't doing as many flip-flops as usual which is a very good thing.  Going to venture to the market for the first time today.  Hubby is finally running out of some of his foods.  Guess I stocked up pretty well before surgery since it's been two weeks now.  I am a shopper. Weather is hot here is Southern California.  We won't see rain until October now so it's always nice to hear about how rain cools other areas of the country for a break from the heat. Hard to believe it's been two weeks since my surgery.  I'm feeling great and a friend saw me yesterday and said I'm really losing weight.  Still a long "weigh" to go but I'll take that!  LOL  The tummy rumblings no longer sound like the sound effects in the movie "Tora! Tora! Tora!" and no longer wake me up at night.  LOL  I'm able to get all my water in which makes my skin feel fantastic.  Can't wait to see what the next two weeks brings! Have a good Friday.  Take care. Hugs, Kathi

Good AM Everyone.  TGIF!!!  This has been a long week.  I've not slept well the past few nights and it's really telling on me today.  (Do you see a recurring theme here?)  That always makes me feel a little down in the dumps.  I'd love to runaway to the coast this weekend, but have too many things going on.  One of these days though... lol  It will be in the upper 80s here today so tonight will be a nice night to sit out in the swing...that is always a peaceful time for me - a mental break from it all.   Well, I'm down to two more preop tests before I try to get approval from my insurance company.  I finish on July 7.  Sometimes this all feels so surreal.  I go from I can't believe I'm doing this to I can't wait to have surgery...So far, aside from my already known health issues, I have found out that my heart murmur is still there (they told my mom when I was born I would out grow it...) and they think it is a leaky valve, I have a hiatal hernia and an ulcer.  I am so glad I'm having these tests.  I feel better knowing about these things so they can be dealt with.   Have a great day and a great weekend all.
Hugs! Donna L (finding_me) - I just know I'm here somewhere...

Donna, I couldn't agree with you more.  I felt exactly the same way when I was going through all my pre op tests.  Both the emotions and the good feeling of getting throughly checked out, medically.  I lived in North Carolina for a few years growing up...the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains.  Just north of Hickory, South of Blowing Rock.  Beautiful state.

Hang in there and before you know it you'll be back home recovering.

God bless and have a great weekend.
