What's New FRIDAY?
The past couple of days have been busy. No time to sit and respond to all the OFF happenings. Welcome to the Newbie's, 'good job' to the WOW moments, and hugs to those in need.
Tom's boss changed their schedule to a 4 days work week. That will sure help with the gas consumption but take some adjustment to the new wake up time.
Gas prices are out of sight. The range is $4.29 - $4.59 per gallon. My job involves a whole bunch of driving - ouchies!! Sure makes me think about where I take my clients and the best route to use.
My two support groups (lap-band and RNY) are getting together for a clothing exchange and a chance to meet each other. They don't have the opportunity to interact with each other as I do and I thought it was about time.
It's unseasonably cold here but I refuse to turn up the heat. Glad I didn't pack away the warm sweaters yet.
Matthew and I had alone time while Melanie was in school. He and I don't often have that opportunity so it was special. Usually Melanie is right there with the green eyed monster watching. She doesn't like to share grandma. Their personalities are complete opposites. Matthew is laid back and finds ways to amuse himself. Melanie is intense and demands center stage.
He noticed that I was wearing pantyhose. He reached over, plucked the material and let it pop back. That sent him into a fit of giggles. I'm not sure what was so amusing, maybe he thought it was my saggy skin making the noise. He had fun though.
It's too cold to sit here. I'm getting back under the electric blanket. See you later.
Annette
Ohhhhhhh Annette, here it is 1:40 am A. M. ! ! I'm awake not by choice .. the smoke detector in the apt is chirping right outside my bedroom door ! ! ! ! The battery is low and it chirps every one minute.. Aaaarrrggh. I was fine until I needed to make my usual nocturnal trip to the bathroom. I can't reach it to take the batteries out.... sigh. I know maintenance would be right out to change them but... I need to wait until they get here later... like about 9:00... ********* Later today I will be heading over to a friends home to help with sewing projects. She is quite a character. She and DH will be celebrating their 60th Anniversary. They have been friends and a couple since they were young kids. I find that soooooo amazing. Really a neat couple.****** That is my day so far... got to get better... LOL Millie
Good morning everyone. I hope that today brings lots of smiles to everyone.
I am up and at 'em and it is only just after 4 in the morning. I have my computer and my "Morning Joe" on the television and Misty is looking out the door and all is well with the world~at least my world.
I just couldn't sleep. I woke up at a quarter to 4 and here I am. I hope that isn't going to start again. Oh no! I hate it when my insomnia starts in. I am up at all times of the day and night with that. As you all know since that has been a topic of conversation for the past few days. I have suffered from that for a long time~since I was in my mid 20's anyway. I use to go days without more than a hour or 2 of sleep. It was terrible and one time I mentioned it to my old family doctor and he asked why I thought I had insomnia and I told him my sleep patterns and he said that was insomnia. But would he do anything about it~no! So here years later I still have it but at least it isn't all the time. For that I am grateful.
Nothing much going on here during the day today. I am going to a RailCats baseball game this evening with my church. Every year we get tickets and who ever want to go buys a ticket and off we go. I sit with my gf's Jeri and Anna and we make it a big social evening. Boy do we have fun!!! I don't know much about baseball and the Minister tried to teach me but I can't remember to much of what he told me. Bless his heart~he thought that I cared! I do watch it but socialization is what the night is for. After the game is over on Friday's they have fireworks and they are beautiful. I look forward to them too. This is the 3rd year that we went on what they call Church Night and we all have a good time. This year we aren't having as many but it is going to be fun anyway. I am meeting a group of us at Denny's restaurant parking lot and then we all go together in Fern's van.
Misty is watching the birds this morning. They have been flying all around this morning and just yelling. This time we are talking about the sea gulls. They are really active this morning. Jeez, they are loud. The little ones are singing like there is no tomorrow. I love hearing them sing.
It is a bit cool today. But then again it is still early. I guess it is going to be cooler today like it has been for the past few days. Yesterday it got to around 80 and I think it going to be about that again today. The evenings are cooler. I sat out on my swing the other day (Wednesday I think) and I had to wear a sweater to sit out there. I did get my sweater and sat out there for a bit and read but not for long. It got to cold for these old bones. lol
Tomrrow is our walk for Relay for Life. I have to pick Ella up at 3 in the morning and we start our walking at 4. I have a way to go and I want to introduce Ella to any of my family that is there. I told Ella that it is almost a certainty that my cousin Johnny won't be there at that time of morning. lol I don't think there is going to be a lot people but I may be surprised on that one. lol We are going to do our walking and then Ella is going to be off to Weigh****chers. Her busy day begins early since she has a wedding to go to also. And I think an open house too. I am glad it is her. lol
I guess I had better get going. I have been chatting for long enough. It is time for someone else to chat away. I am sending love and big hugs to everyone and prayers are going up for everyone too. Special ones are going for those in need of them.
Morning one and all.
UP and ready for duty! I promised the gang at work I'd bring lunch today, chinese chicken salad, so I've been chopping and getting that ready to go. They have the typical hairdresser's diet.....coffee for breakfast, then someone brings in doughnuts or something stupid, then maybe some cheese-crackers or peanut butter on saltines through out the day. That's it! I don't know how they keep up the pace they do with their clients. So, a couple of times a month I take enough food to feed them all and they are so appreciative. It's not that they don't have the $$ to buy their own, they just don't plan ahead. One girl hasn't been to the grocery store for a few weeks and has been eating cheese and crackers with a glass of milk for dinner, then she ran out of milk.
Great news for Gary. He weighed this morning and is down 70 lbs from the day I had my surgery. I'm so very proud of him for sticking with the OA program and doing this. He weighs about the same now as when we got married 26 years ago. We're gonna be one HOT couple at the wedding on 7/4!!!!
Well, my lovelies, it's time for me to get ready for work. Annette, loved the story about the panty hose, you're grands are adorable.
Everyone, please have a wonderful day. Hugs and smoochies to one and all.
