Been gone a while and have questions
I have been very busy with work which is good If I ever get paid. The problem I'm having is I am very sleepy. I am sleeping 10-12 hrs a day and am tired in the evening even after sleeping that long. I have been through a lot in the last 10 months, but it has been 5 weeks since my Gall bladder surgery, which went very well. I am averaging about 740 cal per day. I am getting in my required 60 grams of protein a day, but it is hard to get much more in. I have not lost any weight in about 3 weeks. I am within 2-6 lbs of goal. I am afraid that if I eat more I will gain weight or that I am not getting enough and my body is shutting down as a response to a starvation diet. I do get almost 1 hour of good exersize a day. any ideas would be appreciated. I need more than 12 hours awake a day. Diana
I will try to eat more. I really can't see how I can possibly gain weight on 1,000 cal per day. My nuts guidlines are 3 oz protein, 1/2c vegetables and 1/4 c grain per meal. I can't get that much food in. I eat my protein and a bite or 2 of vegies and fruits inbetween meals or in a drink. I make fresh lemon or limeade and add strawberries or other fruit to take my Miralax.
I will try very hard to get in more calories. Thanks for the Hugs, I need them right now. Hugs back, Diana
Diana, How does that saying go? Something like "The only way it can go is up!" I hope life starts turning in your direction and then you get a gentle breeze to help move you along. I'm sending "guilty vibes" to all those who owe you money. They wouldn't want to work for nothing why should they expect you to? Is it worth going to small claims court just to rattle their cages if nothing more? I don't know anything about it but you shouldn't have to go without necessities because some people won't honor their agreements. Hoping you start to feel better soon. Worry sure doesn't help the situation either. It takes away some of the energy that you need to build a stronger body. Hugs,

Diana, Just my two cents but I sure try to get in from 80-100 gr of protein a day. I start with a protein shake. I haven't had any problems with tiredness. Doesn't sound like ENOUGH calories to me. We need calories for energy. Sounds like you have done great. I still have a ways to go to get to goal but I feel great and have a lot of energy. Are you going to be up for a camping trip this summer? I sure would love to meet you somewhere "in between". Maybe we can talk Cheryl into it too. Also B12 seems to do a lot for me in the energy and mood department. It may be all in my head but when I pop that little sublingual tablet under my tongue each morning I can almost feel the day get brighter. Are you losing hair? That is a sign for me that I am not getting enough protein. I've missed you! I don't post as often as I'd like. Busy with building, moving, and babies!

Thanks for missing me. I don't know about this summer now. we are having some real problems collecting on what people owe us. We are down to about $50.00 in the check book. things have been bad in the construction industry, but individuals should be able to pay me before they even start. I have some work coming back in, but I have so much money that is is owed to me and we were counting on it to pay the bills. We keep getting put off and off and offf. One owes us almost $4,000. I want to go camping so bad my teeth ache.
My B12 is above normal and I take it every day, liquid sublingual. I am not losing hair. I have a short bypass so they say that 60 gms is enough. I will try to up it a little with more protein drink. I also take all my vitamins, extra biotin, flaxseed oil, vit D, vit E and I am still taking 2 iron a day. I am having trouble eating more. I have to eat fruits and vegetables between meals just to get them in. I eat very little grain. Like maybe 3 servings a week at most.
Pray for me getting some money in. I want to go take my grandson to the dinosaur park in Easter Utah. I need some money for that also.

I think you guys are right. I know I am still recovering, funny I lecture people all the time about it take 6-8 weeks to recovery from any surgery. And then there was the bronchitis 3 weeks before my surgery. That takes 6-8 weeks to recover from even after you feel good. No wonder I have just gotten another large cold sore this month. I will eat or drink or do something more for calories and I will up my protein some more.
I miss being on the board, but I have to work so much while I am awake. That seems to be taking all my time or at least time that I can function. I often have to go sit down away from the computer for a while. Sometimes I fall asleep and then I get up and go to bed and sleep anohter 10-12 hours.

Diana,
Everyone said it and I'll jump in here too, you are not fueling your body enough, especially if you are exercising an hour a day and only taking in 740 calories a day, you should be closer to 1000, my NUT told me to keep my calorie count at between 850 and 1000. Hope your money situation gets better.
Hugs, Laureen
