Just curious, is this around the waist area on the right side? I sometimes get a pain like that, gonna ask the doc about that on Friday during my physical. It's followed by rather intense bowel movements (like four or five in a row).  Sorry you're not doing well. Hope you are able to get your chai down tonight. Don't want you to go without your chai.Take care, Debbie.

Eileen, no the initial pain is up high right about inches below the tip of the sternum.  The right upper quadrant discomfort that follows is right about where the gallbladder pain is when you have a stone.  I don't have a GB any more and no stones either.  For about  36 hours after the attack I feel icky.  bloated, gassy (sorry-TMI I know) and not interested in eating (which for me is a BIG clue!  LOL) and when I do eat I get very full very fast.  I just explained it to the PA almost what I would think an ileus would feel like.  (slow down of GI tract).  I dunno.  She is e mailing my doc who is in California at a conference right now to see if he has any ideas.   Take care!

Debbie,

Sorry to hear your having those darn pains. I hope your doctor figures everything out and you are pain free soon. Take it easy until then.

Mary
