baby Martin made dramatic entrance.
I swear, never a dull moment. I picked up Christina at 9 Pm to stay at my house. She was having "twinges" I told her to let me know if she thought she was in labor as I take Tylonal PMs. At 10 she said "I am fine, take your pills", at 10:45 she lost her mucus plug, at 11 her water broke. I called her doctor who said bring her in. We live 3 miles from the hospital by the time I got her there she was diliated to 7 !! I never saw a hospital staff move so fast. She still was doing fine. about 12:15 she turned into Exersist gal. I worked OB for a few years and I have never seen a worse gal in labor.. stay far far away or you WILL get decked. kicking screaming. I knew doing a spinal on her would be a trip. Even after she had it she screamed and carried on. Fnally after the baby was delivered. OMG that was scarey, he was all out but his head and they couldn't get it out.. I really never saw so much pulling. Finally at 1:08 AM Martin Keith entered the world and they put the mask on his mama to put her to sleep. he was 7# 12 oz 20.25 inches long. I have good pictures. My blasted scanner says "no connection " to the puter. I asked the office manager if she can doit.. She said "I will TRY to get them to you before you leave".. grrr, she is sitting in her office gossiping with another staff member. So I can't post a picture right now. So from 11 PM "twinges", to home and heading for bed by 3 AM. That is a case of "git er done" if I ever saw one. Thanks for all your prayers and good thoughts.

Well Jean, congrats on the new sweet baby, may he be a joy for all of you and hopefully Christina makes it to the hospital the next time, if there is one ;) Hugs for the new Mom, baby and to you Grandma! Laureen

Jean,
Your description of the birth is hysterical. I had someone in the labor room with me who was the same. (In those days everyone in labor was thrown in a room together.) I was trying to be stoic and not utter a sound. I wanted to smack this girl for all the carrying on she was doing.
I am so glad that Mom and your new grandbaby, Martin are doing well. I'm glad you got home OK after taking your Tylenol PMs.
Congratulations Grandma.
