A big wow for me yesterday.
Congratulations and thank you so much for sharing with us! I may be off base here, but something like your experience is only truly appreciated by those who couldn't get on the rides with their children because of their own size. I once was on the merry-go-round with one of my daughters and was asked to get off because I was 'unbalancing' the ride. Always was walking at the rear, saying you wanted to make sure none of the kids lagged behind, but really because you needed to walk slower. Little things like riding the rides, or me for, crossing my legs UNDER THE TABLE is a big deal and a reason to celebrate so again, congratulations on your great day!

Thanks Bonnie! In the kiddie section they have a weigt limit on the kiddie rides when someone has to ride with the grands my DH always had to go. This year I'm looking forward to riding with them. Crossing my legs is great!! I find myself setting indian style on my bed at night and it's amazing! What area are you from in CT?
That's great ... but I would get sick. I'm glad you enjoyed your day.
I was at a carnival once with my mom, and we went on a ride ... not really a rollercoaster but a fast ride and they tucked us in rather snuggly ... I was right up against my mom and she was rather beet red ... finally the guy stopped the ride and said to me, "You're killing your mom there, you're just too fat. You're going to have to get off the ride." I was so embarrassed. My mom was upset at the guy for telling me this, but looking back, he was blunt, but he was telling the truth. I hated hearing it, but I was hurting her. That was when I stopped going on rollercoasters (plus, they made me sick anyway.)
I love water rides, though ... as long as I don't have to climb too many steps.
Eileen,
I know what you are saying about squishing someone and glad I don't have to worry about that anymore. We didn't do the water rides as DH said it was to cold to get wet! We bought the season passes so we can go back to the water park and cedar point. I plan on taking the grands back in a couple of weeks. My favorite part use to be the food and yesterday I just looked at the prices and thought I don't need anything. Just hated the 3.00 bottles of water will take my own next time.
I know what you mean about the $3 bottles of water ... but I usually buy them anyway because I like really cold water. The last time I was at an amusement park was in Branson ... bad amusement park, Silver Dollar City ... not many rides, it was too cold for the water rides ... even my brother, who loves rollercoasters, said the rollercoasters were "lame" and there was only two of them ... the rest of the rides were little kids rides. Luckily, we got in for free ... this was two years after my surgery, but I was still having problems walking it a lot and there were no electric scooters available because Branson is senior citizens' heaven ... I was out of luck! Dollywood, on the other hand, in Pigeon Forge, is really nice. Even I enjoyed that amusement park ... otherwise, I stay away from them ... overpriced and not my style.
I'm glad you had fun, though.
