Ha!! What's New Monday....I DID IT!!!!!

Aloha my OFFers.......and I think I may have broken a record here and gotten to be first for WHAT'S NEW MONDAY!! Well, hell...it's 8:30 p.m Sunday night, but it's almost Monday on the west coast and it IS MONDAY ON THE EAST COAST...SO THERE!!

I'm sitting here in my shortie nightie in the heat...with a fan overhead and another on my desk. I'm watching the ****tail cruises leaving from the harbor, and can actually hear the beat of the drums as they play for the dancers. If I were to walk out on my lanai right now, I would see tiki torches lit and moonlight on the ocean....maybe some lovers walking on the beach. It is peaceful. I just had my 2nd mint green Skinny Cow ice cream sandwich and am feeling delightfully sinful! Maybe I will have gained a pound in the morning.

So..since I have your attention......let me ask a question about sleep. Seems so many of us speak of being up in the middle of the night unable to sleep, I'm wondering how many of us actually DO have sleeping problems. I certainly do. If I take 3 or 4 trazadones and an over the counter blue sleep aid, I MIGHT sleep from 10:00 p.m. until 3:00 a.m. That's about the best I can hope for. I wonder why it is that sleep has become such a problem. I would appreciate any light shed on this. I've tried melatonin...doesn't work for me. I know it works for others, but not me. Many meds do not seem to work on this body of mine..........I think I'm part Martian!!

So, my dears....I'm now going to crawl into my bed and be all happy because I THINK I WAS actually first with What's New Monday.......oh happy day!! Please share away......I will be snoozing and then when I wake I will read all your juicy news.

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

My computer is playing tricks on me. I don't even see this post at all ... I don't see a what's new Monday except my own, and I don't see Karen's beginning at all ... Darlene directed me to this link, and Janet's post came up. So I'm sorry Karen for not recognizing your post as the beginning ... I thought it was kinda strange that I was starting the post, but it didn't show on my computer. I've even rebooted, and it still didn't show up. I was on the phone with Carla and was telling her about it, and she thought it was strange too. I guess I'll have to wait till I get to work to read your post, because my Windows XP is playing voodoo tricks today. Sorry.  Well, you can read all my crying on my other post ... it's the same old same old anyway. No money, everybody wants some. I applied online today for a part-time job at a call center. Probably won't get it anyway. I guess I should go take a shower and get dressed. Sorry I didn't see this post first, but on my computer it wasn't showing. The "What we're eating" post was there, but not the "What's New"  Is there a full moon due today? weird happenings ....

GOOD MORNING KAREN! I WENT TO BED 11:30 P.M. EST.  STILL AWAKE AT 1:00 A.M.  HAD TO GET UP AT 4:30 A.M. TO GET MY HUSBAND OFF TO WORK.  NOW I AM HERE AT 5:40 A.M.  I FEEL TIRED BUT UNABLE TO SLEEP.  NO, I DO NOT TAKE ANYTHING.  ANYHOW, JUST WANTED TO SAY HELLO! JOY

a wonderful surprise!!! you did it!!!  i sleep pretty well during the nite-i have gone back to using my cpap so i think it helps. nites that i do wake up i find it will be a pattern of the same time every nite for a couple- usually 245--i think maybe michael is getting up then to potty so i think i am aware of him stirring? i don't have a specific "bed time" anymore and that is not good. sorry-can't help you there ! nothing on the agenda other than work. g'ma update-sounds like no stroke but she seems to have meningitis???? fever down to 99 from 103 yesterday. and a (hospice)nurse visitng someone else at the hospiatl popped in on her at request my aunt and uncle...nurse doesn't give her long...they have her heavily medicated so she will not seizure and her diabetes is out of control but afraid to reign it in too fast or put her into shock.. she seemed to know mom was there. so- we wait....very hard to know that this gal was riding her stationary bike 10 miles a day to keep diabetes under control at home! michael's daughter called last nite with news that surprised us- the house she is living in with twin daughters is going into foreclosure (houston)and so she must move-she thought her cousin ( who owns the house)was paying taxes and keeping things inline-evidently not! so laura is losing out even tho she has been paying her end of the bargain! well- here's hugs and prayers and hope for a good day!

Margo, my prayers continue for you dear Grandma. It is difficult but such a sad part of life to watch the decline in our loved ones as they get older. If there is anything we can do just let us know. I am sending love and ginormous hugs to you sis!

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.
