Brenda... What do you mean you have no life? You are on this side of the grass... and you are breathing. I love reading your posts. You have gone places and done things and told us about them. Maybe its not all glitz and glamour but, I for one would miss your chats. Smile and make today special for yourself by spoiling Bill on Father's Day. .... Millie

Margo, Just remember, the things that look the prettiest are not always the best for us. The grass is always greener and full of pesticides sometimes. Janet

Good Morning Texas Red and Friends,

Yesterday we loaded up the car with Hanna, Clara, Lucy, Erin, and me along with all of their "necessities."  We were talking to Erin's sis in law on the speaker phone and completely missed our turn for White Pass. We took a scenic trip over Chinook Pass which has just been open for a couple of weeks. It is closed every winter from about Nov to June. It goes right through Mt. Rainier Nat'l Park and the day was stunning. Bright blue skies, lots of snow, and about 65 degrees.

We stopped for the twin's first picnic. Nothing to eat with us for US but milk and a quick change on a picnic table for them. Right along a beautiful rushing river. I think I've found a new camping spot for this summer.

Made it back to Chehalis by 3pm.  Babies had slept all  the way home so they ate and fussed, fussed and ate, until about  10pm. Then they slept til 4am. We fed them again and it's almost 7am and I haven't heard them yet. But they are about due. Even if you pick one up to let the other one sleep, they have the same program built in.  It won't be long before the 2nd one chimes in.  Usually Miss Clara is first and when she wakes up you better hop to it. She has a very short fuse when it comes to waiting for milk!

Josh will be home this afternoon from his trip. He's back in cell phone range still in British Columbia but should be home by mid afternoon. I'm going to disappear early this morning. I have a lot to do at home. Moving into the apartment will take place next week and we still have a lot of packing to do.

Missing my daddy today. I was a daddy's girl. Loved snugging up to him when he'd get home from his construction job. Loved the smell of him. Good old masculine sweat but  that's a smell I associate with him. I was lucky enough to have him until I was 45.  You all take care.

* * * * Ohhh Karen, Chinook pass is one of my favorite scenic drives. I just love the drive between Chinook Pass and White Pass. Such beauty... For those not familiar to the area. These passes are in the Mt Rainier area. Very dense and lush. ~ ~ ~ ~ And having those babies with you. I just love the little ones. We have a gal who makes and sells the most adorable baby/kids size hats at our farmers market. I keep thinking I wish I had a baby to buy one for.... may just get one because "I" want it. LOL LOL Millie

Hi Millie, Where do you currently live?  I'm looking for cute little hats for this football season. My grand daughters' daddy is a high school football coach. They'll be going to games and need to be dressed in the orange and black of the Napavine Tigers!! Please let me know how much they cost and what kind of material. I'm also looking for fleece that is a tiger print. I'll try to make them sleepers or sleeping bags that they can wear over their clothes to the games. Not that I don't have enough going on right now with selling houses, building a house and moving into an apartment!

Karen, I live in Puyallup .... Have you looked online for fabric? Lots of fun fabric around. I have shopped online ... fab stores and ebay to get what I want. I have been following your travels around the area. I was surprised you went through Chinook pass on your way to Chehalis ... is that where you were going or coming from? anyway... enjoy those babies. Millie

Millie, You do know the area well! My daughter and I were on speaker phone to her sis in law right before the turn off to White Pass. . . Yep, we were distracted and completely missed it. And it's hard to miss! We were a few miles down the road when we realized that nothing looked familiar, very pretty but new! So instead of turning around we just kept going knowing that Whistlin Jacks was just up the road. One of those serendipity moments that turned into a wonderful afternoon for this granny and her favorite girls! We'll have to get together some time when I'm passing by. With the grands in Chehalis and a son in Ballard I am over there way more than my gas budget can stand! Karen PS Just took us about 30 minutes longer and was worth every minute of it!

Well, it's not even noon yet and I've done a good days work!  I got both flower beds weeded and cultivated, a load of wash hung out (sheets and towels) and another load started.  Going to get back to working on the lilac room which will soon become the lt cocoa colored room (I think that's the color I bought anyway). The carpet and pad got finished being ripped up last night.  what hot sweaty work!  Today after I worked outside for a while I came in and turned on the AC.  It got warm in here last night and it will only be on until bed time.  I decided to work in the "overnight" guest bedroom it would be easier to do it being cool instead of being a sweat hog.  Once I get the tack strips up (over half done so far) I will clean off the cobwebs, fill nail holes etc and start to paint the room.  shouldn't take too long.  The hardwood floor underneath looks really good.  best looking floor that I have seen in this house that was under a carpet!   Don't have much else to report, been keeping busy and been eating the wrong things many times and spending too much.  Now the piper is due to be paid and I feel the pinch.  Oh well such is life.  Hope you all have a great fathers day, I will be calling my dad later.  Will see if he wants to go eat someplace.  Later gaters!
