PANTY HOSE!!
I know that some of you ladies can associate with this.
So I am at my local Walmart.. standing in front of the pantyhose section.. And had to call my friend who is near my size.. 5'2" and 177.. and ask her what size to buy. I have been wearing the 4x size for so many years I didn't know where to start.
The last time I looked for something smaller.. I was still wearing the panty girddle with the hooks for nylons. Panty hose were for my teen age girls. And very pricey. Remember those days???
It was the late 1970's for me.
I bought a Queen size.. 1$ pair and THEY FIT!!! I wore them all day and they did not roll down and I did not have to keep pulling them up. WAHOO!! What an experience.
Wore my new pretty size 14 skirt.. with a zipper... and a top that was almost to big. It was at a funeral for a young woman.. 48 . that died of a massive stroke... Not the best time.. But I felt so good about me. I wasn't the fat old lady in the crowd.. I FIT IN!!!
Thank you all for being here. I lurk here everyday.. and do so enjoy all your stories.. and input.. and encouragement. THANK YOU Alice
* * * * THAT is a WOW moment. Isn't it nice to dress up and feel comfortable. I remember wearing the girdles with hooks. LOL back in the day when I didn't need a girdle. LOL ohhhh the torture... we've come a long way since then. sorry to hear it was for a funeral.... maybe find a place to dress up for and enjoy the ambiance ... Millie
WOW....now that isn't something I haven't thought about in a long time!!
I always wore pants when I was heavy.
Now it is summer and my legs are tan so I don't wear hose. I guess I should get rid of all my panty hose and buy a couple pair for when I do need them. I went through all my clothes and got rid of tons but forgot the hose drawer. Thanks for reminding me.
I love wearing shirts and sundresses....I love WLS!!!
Hugs, connie d
Hi Ladies,
Not too long ago I attended a college graduation in a nice pantsuit with a body shaper underneath (went to my knees). I looked like a stuffed sausage but no ripples...I look forward to post-op when I can wear sun dresses and skirts that aren't elastic waist. I swear I'm going to rid my closet of elastic waist clothing when I near my goal....I'm tired of folding over the waist band and unrolling the waist band that rolls down whenever I change position. Come to think of it, the body shaper (we used to call them girdles) did chafe (spelling?) my inner thighs but tried to keep a smile on my face eventho I was in pain. THIS FAT MUST GO!!!!
Have a wonderful afternoon everyone.
Alice
