I'm back!
Hi my OFF Family,
I'm back from visiting my family in Germany and it was wonderful to celebrate the 1st b-day of my sweet granddaughter, pictures I will post in the next 24 hours on my profile, as well as seeing her brother, father and Mom!
My son does not fuss much over things, nor is he very complimentary and when he saw me, his reaction was, wow Mom you are so little now, he is happy to see that I am doing well and healthy, able to enjoy my life more; my DIL was really bowled over and said I looked great and her Mom, who I traveled with, when I picked her up to travel up to Newark airport last Friday and who had seen me more recently, at Easter, said how small I had gotten, that the change since Easter was big. So the validation from others continues and it feels good.
Eating in Germany was a *****allenging at times, though I packed WLS friendly snacks and such, but I mostly made good choices, did lots of walking and the results have me happy, as I am down to a new low for me of 180 lbs, which brings me close to my next personal weight goal, which was 175 by my birthday and I have a good feeling that I will come close to making it!
Well I'm off to do things around here and will catch up on all your lives as time permits this weekend! I missed all of you and sharing in your daily activities. . .
Have a great day!
Prayers, positive thoughts and hugs, Laureen

Hi Laureen,
Sounds like your trip was successful in many ways!!
You deserve all the compliments and attention for your hard work. We all need alittle "boost" from time to time to keep the spring in our step.
Good to have you back in the ole USA.

Aloha and welcome home sweetie........I'm so glad you had a wonderful trip. I hear you about your son not being very complimentary. Mine wasn't either until I asked if I looked unhealthy, and he said "No, mom...you look great!" I think our "boys" just see us as moms and don't really notice the size we are..........love is blind as they say.
They say Germany looks much like Oregon where I grew up.....green, lush and beautiful. I hope you found peace and emotional nourishment there.
You were missed!!

Welcome back ... glad you had a good time. Someday I really want to get to Germany ... when I have money again (in about 100 years!) I'm sure you were able to enjoy yourself more because of your weight loss. I have found vacations and trips to be much more enjoyable since I have lost my weight ... I can walk more without pain, the plane rides don't hurt, I don't feel so squished into the seats. I just enjoy travel so much more. And those WOW moments from your family, that must have felt really good.
Good to have you home!
Isn't it amazing to be called "little" and by an unbiased son........what an accomplishment.
I am sure your trip was very good....and fun.....nothing like cute grandbabies and sweet baby skin to make you happy....I know you will miss it.
Welcome back....you were missed.
Love, Marti
PS actually I think Wisconsin is sooo much like Germany...probably why so many Germans settled in Wisconsin.
