Thanks, 50's not too old for WLS !!!!!!!

Hello,  I have not posted on the board for a long time, you might remember me I asked if I was too old for WLS (I just turned 50).  I got a great response from all of you and have just gotten a date of June 27th for DS surgery. I want to thank all of you for the advice and positive words that encouraged me to arrange for this surgery to be done. I'm having a little bit of a two week freak out but luckily there are two other girls from Ontario having surgery the day before me.  Thanks again!

Congratulations on the surgery date! You're gonna do great.  I'm 55 and just had my surgery on June 5.  I'm doing fine and feeling better than I thought I would faster than I thought I would. Take care, Kathi

Thanks for the congratulations.  I'm glad to hear you're doing so well, it does make you wonder why we waited soooo long, doesn't it...

You will be like the rest of us and wish that you had the surgery much sooner!  The pre-surgery freak-out is normal.  Don't let it get to you.  You will do fine. Wanda

Congratulations on your date.  Much luck to you.  50 is the new 30 if you haven't heard by now.  I was 51 when I had my open RNY, and then I just had a panni and two hernia repaired.   Please keep us posted on your journey. Jeanne
