I was watching "You Are What You Eat" on televison, and the nutr made a dish using "dookie beans", zuchinni, and butternut squash.  She talked about how the beans draws fluid and impurities out of the body.  Has anyone ever heard of these beans or where to get them?

Sorry, can't say I've heard of them, but will be interested to hear about them.  I Googled dookie beans and came up with bean recipe from Dooky Chase Restaurant owner Leah Chase, local chef.  She's an amazing lady!  Love her style and attitude.  She's a strong, *****y, beautiful black woman in her 80s who lost her home and restaurant in Katrina, and has come back just as strong as ever.  I her!

Ok, I just looked these up and here is what I got:  Dry adzuki beans are small dark red, oval beans approximately 5 mm in diameter. They have a distinctive white ridge along one side. Adzuki beans are popular across Asia, particularly in Japan, and are used to make red sweet bean paste  As you read farther down it also called them the "Mercedes" of beans.  Has loads of protein in them.  I Bet you can find them at Whole Foods or possibly an Asian Market.  You have peaked my interest, I will have to find them.

Second try turned up a little more info, maybe the third time will be a charm!  I do find it hard to believe these beans have no protein! Adzuki Beans, Organic

Small, round and reddish brown. Also known as Feijao, Aduki and Azuki beans. Light, nutty flavor and less "beany" tasting than most legumes, enhancing both savoy and sweet dishes. Prepare as other beans as a casserole or sprout. A favorite as an addition to vegetable soups.

My interest has been kindof peaked also...once the weather breaks and we head back towards winter I'll have to give them a try.  My taste buds can wait until then!
