Linda, Yesterday I had a meeting with my mom's case manager (and Mom) to discuss discharge planning.  They wanted to keep her in rehab until Monday, but it turns out that's because that's how long Medicare will stay for her to be there, and the therapy schedule is reduced on weekends anyway, so they're discharging her on Saturday.  After discussing this in detail for 30 min., the case manager left and Mom said, "Who was that man, and what did he want?"  So I went over the whole thing again with her, and she acted like she hadn't heard a word of the previous discussion.  But she's happy she's going home to her assisted living facility, so I guess all is well. B:  1 packet weight control oatmeal made w/ 2/3 c. skim milk & 1/2 banana S:  1/2 c. peach cottage cheese pudding L:  2 oz chicken, 1/4 c. zucchini S:  1/2 c. LF cottage cheese w/ pineapple D:  2 oz yellowfin tuna, 1/4 c. carrots S:  4 oz SF pudding Jean

Lucky you - a Friday off!  Hope you enjoy being away from the grind.  We're down to two clericals and the business manager today - we should have 5 clericals, the bus. mang. and his assistant.  Can we say another busy, hectic day at the office!  I'm hoping to get away for about an hour to show support for Pat whose dad passed away earlier this week and will be buried today.  I'd have stayed home and gone directly to the services, but it doesn't start until 11.  So, I crossed the river, to come to work, will cross the river again around 10:45, then cross again to come back to work, cross again to go home.  My poor car will be so confused.  I feel someone should represent the dept at the services.  Even Pat's boss (Dept. Head isn't able to attend, he had a conference out of town).  She says she understands if no one can be there, after all someone has to watch the shop.  So, that's the plan if we don't get swamped with work. B - protein shake S - protein shake L - deli ham and turkey with a couple of wheat crackers S - yogurt D -  there's only 1/2 a catfish filet left, and truthfully, I'm finally burned out on catfish!  Who'da thunk!  We have lots of leftover veggies, so maybe I'll open a can of Blue Runner red beans, add some ham, got rice cooked for George, and it'll be dinner S - cheese stick or a glob of peanut butter on a spoon Debbie

Good morning Linda & all, Visited with our friends yesterday at lunch. However, she is not looking good, chemo & cancer really taking a toll on her body she looked so frail, kinda wobbly . But her spirits are good. Her husband was not himself yesterday, pretty quiet, worried I'm sure. His first wife passed from cancer. I did ok with my food plan yesterday, still under my calories and cards. I'm going to keep track of food and exercise on thedailyplate.com from now on which seems like a great tool. bonus...my Nutr. will be able to read it better than my chicken scratch.  Todya, B- only coffee so far ( still morning tummy problems)  L- Salad w/ a piece of fruit. D- Grilled shrimp skewers w/ grilled zucchini(love it)  Paulette
