Had my coffee already and breakfast.
Supper didn't sit well last nite and lost it all, so "The Kemminator" is a little grouchy this morning.

Got a case (16 qts) of strawberries yesterday -- managed to get 9 qts done - some in the freezer, some to eat, and took biscuits and containers of prepared berries to my lady next door and the couple across the street (the husband does a lot for me and won't take anything for it). Have to finish the other 7 qts this afternoon.

Going to go check out the DS's garage sale later this afternoon.

Other than that not much planned for the weekend.

Off to work now.

Pat

Just had my shake so off to work in few minutes...then after work mow the lawn and try to get more yard work done before it rains again. The breeze should keep those huge mosquitos away. Have a great day everyone!! Wanted to wait for Linda to wake up but have to leave. Alice

Morning one and all! I like Janet's style, short, sweet and to the point.  I can pretty much second what she said. I need my latte on the way to work, nothing going on but work, same again tomorrow. Kids are coming over for Father's Day dinner so that should be fun, so I have that to look forward to. Our local support group meeting was last night, and as usual there was a packed house of hopeful pre-ops. The summer vacations and gas has dwindled our post op group though, only 7 of us in our little area outside the cafeteria. Oh well, gave us a chance to discuss lots of things on a more personal level. I've been experimenting with my food intake to see where I need to be to maintain. Started the week at 122 where I've been for a week or so, and comfortable there. So I cut back to my pre surgery intake of 1500 or so a day. Upped my protein a bit, just cause it keeps me going longer in the day and this morning I'm back down to 119. So, guess I'll try 1700 cals a day and see what that does. Can't say there's ever a dull moment on the WLS journey! Hugs and love to all. Have a dandy weekend!

Good Morning! Nothing new here, but...the weather! Yay! It is actually going to be in the 70s like it's suppose to be for the next few days. That makes me happy. My scale has started moving down again...but might be just from when I was having all the stomach issues last week. Still not feeling as good as I was but will see the dr. next week. Hope the loss is a true loss. I had been stalled for over 6 weeks. Dtr all moved out of her dorm, finals done, and is out at camp for the summer doing her counseling thing! Now if she just passed all her classes! She was having a heck of a time going back and forth and trying to study while she was out at camp. Was a 120 mile round trip too so now we will be saving a little money on gas! Happy Friday to you all! Cheryl

Good morning Margo and all, I hope you all have a wonderful day!. We met our friends for lunch yesterday. she has lung cancer and has been thru so many rounds of chemo & radiation for the past 18 months. She looks so frail and was very wobbly yesterday, but her spirits are still upbeat. Her husband was not his usual self , pretty quiet, worried I'm sure. Please keep them in your prayers. Anyway, painting the master bedroom on the agenda for today and the weekend. On the 19th Earl &  I will celebrate our 32nd wedding anniversary.  I need to look up a place we've been wanting to go just over the Michigan border ( White Heron Inn) . Plan to leave on Wed, back on Friday.  Paulette

No coffee for me - yet, and I've been up for 3 hours!  It's not really unusual for me though.  I enjoy my coffee more in the afternoon or at night.  Last night we went to Starbucks, blew a hole in a $20.00 bill!  Two med. size fraps and a bottle of sugar free cinnamon dulce syrup - yummy, they finally had it!  Hoping we don't get too busy at work as I'd like to leave for an hour to attend my friend/coworker's dad's services.  Here I sit dressed up, no jeans and tennis shoes today!  Strangely, I'm not uncomfortable - YET.  We are very shorthanded today, down to 2 clericals and the business manager to handle all the whiny babies.  We usually have 5 clericals, the bus. mang. and his assistant. George has to work at least half a day Sat., he's worked over time every night the last two weeks.  I miss him .   No definite plans for the weekend.  Depending on the weather, I may go to the farmer's market again, run a few errands, and see a movie.  The only thing that looks interesting is What Happens in Vegas.  Saw Sex and the City last weekend.  Maybe something new will start today.  The alternative is stay home and clean house.   Have a great weekend, Debbie

Margo and all my OFF family,

Lots of people off today so it's quiet so thought I'd take a moment to write my dear OFF family.  We've been so busy at work and life in general.

Last weekend we went to Dayton, Ohio for the weekend.  We had to drive both the car and truck because Brenda is going to be there for training for two weeks.  CJ and I came home on Sunday.  She's not coming home this weekend even though it's only 2 hours away because of the gas prices.  It's not $4.19 a gallon.  BTW, we did buy a new car a couple weeks ago.  We ended up getting a KIA Sportage with heated leather seats...a requirement to keep us warm after freezing constantly.

Margo, we enjoyed the Strawberry Festival but it poured rain all day long.  Not as much fun that way.  Always next year.

I haven't had time to check the boards at all and I'm paying the price.  A friend from the Indiana board sent me a personal that I hadn't reserved a cabin for the OFF Campout and now they only have one for Friday night, not Saturday.  Guess it will be a short weekend unless one opens up.  We're on a waiting list for Saturday.  I need to call and make reservations tonight for our OFF trip to Holiday World on June 27th.  Hope I'm not too late for that.

Hope everyone is doing well.  I'll be glad when work slows down so I can keep up with everyone again.  I haven't even had time to work on the directory.  Will try this week.

Brotherly hugs,

Floyd

Hi Margo and everyone: Slept til after 11 today ... woke up a couple of times with a headache and went back to sleep hoping it would go away ... it didn't. The phone rang at 8 and I just ignored it. It was my ortho doc's office reminding me of my appointment Tuesday, so I'm glad I didn't get up because it's a robo call. They also called yesterday when I was at work. Seems they got permission from the bariatric doc to let me take Celebrex, because I got a call from his office today saying I could take it but I also had to take Prevacid. Well, I already take Nexium, same thing, different name. The nurse said it still may irritate my pouch ... I'm hesitant to take it but I'm also in so much pain, I'd chew nails right now if it would help my knee feel better. So if they prescribe it, I'll take it. But right now, I don't have any money to get the prescription ... I don't have money for gas (well, actually, I have $23 in my checking account after the checks for bills and $12.91 on my Shoppers Hotline account ... that's this consumers survey thing I do that I get a little extra money for ... and I do mean little, but it helps).  So here I sit finishing my AchievOne cappucino with SF cinnamon dulce (yup, Debbie, I buy it too). I'm running out of those, so I hope I can get some more next week. I have to call and see if they have any in stock or order some. Next week is just as tight. It's pretty bad when you can't buy essentials like gas and your prescriptions. No big plans for the weekend, just sitting at home, watching baseball and reading. I live such an exciting life. I can't afford to do anything else anyway.  Well, I should exercise a little bit today. Wednesday when I rode my bike my knee hurt, but I should try it again. Have a good day. I'm off to get some Imitrex and coffee too.

Aloha and good morning my OFF family,

Well, here it is 6:15 a.m. and I'm plopped at my favorite spot for chatting with all of you. The sun is just peeking over the top of Haleakela and turning the ocean golden and shimmering. There is an outrigger canoe gliding past and the palm trees are swaying gently....a very peaceful and beautiful beginning to Friday on Maui.

Yesterday I saw my bariatric doc and got a lot of positive reinforcement. I told him of my stomach problems and he is ordering a CT scan in the next few days. However, he said my blood work looked perfect, and I am .. and I quote "A SKINNY WOMAN BUT A HEALTHY WOMAN." He said don't let anyone tell me I look too thin or unhealthy......they are just jealous!! Isn't he a sweet doctor!!!! I love him......Ha! So..after talking with him, I am going to quit worrying and just LIVE, eat and be happy. Hopefully the CT scan will show anything that might be wrong with gall bladder, etc...but I'm just not going to stress about it until something shows up to worry about....so there!!

Last night I went out to dinner with a visitor from Colorado who also had our surgery 3 years ago. A friend of mine wanted me to meet her and share our stories. She has lost 145 lbs. AND still needs to lose another 50. She reminded me of myself about six months ago......she had big buh-tocks!! Made me realize that my bodacious buh-tocks have really rather disappeared....and are replaced with flat, boney ones that need a pillow to avoid pain from sitting on bones! The surprises just keep coming!! It was interesting to hear her story of having the surgery without any training beforehand. No classes, no meetings with nutritionist, no psychological tests, etc. I hear stories like hers and I'm especially blessed for having had that year of intensive training, support group meetings, etc. Oh, by the way...for dinner I had a chicken caesar salad and ate maybe half of it. My new WLS friend had a hamburger and sweet potato french fries! Does that tell you anything?????

Today is a free day....so I'm doing my hour on the lanai in my teeny tiny, itty bitty bikini (not really..just a strapless tank) while sipping a pina colada (not really.....ice water), and flirting with the gardeners (not really.....just giving them the thumbs up for a job well done!). So..I'M NOT REALLY doing much of anything today......love it!!

Here's hoping you are all staying out of harm's way.........and feeling wonderful. You ARE all gems.......of every size, shape, color and personality...and I love you all for sharing your lives with me!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen
