ha! I wondered if I should have started off my post with a disclaimer to the men around here
" Is there a hormonal change that happens post-op?"
oh yea!!!!!!!!!!!! hormones are stored in our fat...and as you lose fat you let those hormones loose!!!!!!!! many of us talk about this part of wls as the roller coaster ride of your life!!!
serioulsy-yes about a hormonal change.....and --i agree with bev--don't wait too long--
i was already post hysterectomy before my wls so i cannot speak about the periods tho.....
Welcome!
As someone else pointed out, weight loss can mess with your hormones, so it could very well be that.
I had my lap-band surgery at age 54, after my hysterectomy, and went through menopause quite a few years before that, but what you describe reminds me of the bad old pre-menopause days. And then 10 years after that was over, I started spotting and cramping again, which was not a good sign (hence the hysterectomy). ( It turned out to be fibroids.) Anyway, if this continues another month, I'd go see the GYN. He/she can do blood tests to check your hormone levels, maybe a PAP, and certainly a physical exam.
