I've been looking for you before running off to gymnastics. It got up to a yummy 96 degrees here yesterday. It felt so gooood to me. Only 59 degrees right now so my feet are numb and achey again. A few laps in the gym will warm me up. I see our new dietician and will ask what she thinks of my same old same old menu. The liver functions are still off so I want to go over my labs row by row with her. The lab didn't send me a copy of the last results but she will have a copy. I'm not too concerned, just curious. ta ta for now. Stay inside and keep cool. Loving hugs Annette

Hi Linda, I am soooo jealous of you and Annette's hot weather! We are setting record lows here and there is even snow!!! I have little tomatoes on the vine and I hope they don't croak. I have been looking forward to the warmth but alas......we are getting scr3w3d out of our Spring/Summer! Awoke at 4am today...so I will be yawning later today. B-protein shake S-yogurt with a little Kashi L-cottage cheese, ham and cheese roll up S-apple and peanut butter D-prob cottage cheese Stomach still hurts off and on but not like last week. Still haven't heard from the ultra sound place but I will just wait till I see the pcp...that way she will get all the tests ordered and I won't have to worry that it won't be paid for... Hope you had better sleep last night. Cheryl

Good Morning to Y'all, Made some great turkey burgers yesterday and want to share... mixed a pound of turkey burger with some wheat germ, wasabi sauce and psyllium husks (for regularity) and divide into 4 burgers and cooked on my GF grill. They were v.good. The wasabi sauce was enough spice to give it some nice flavor. No, I don't usually measure things, just eyeball the consistency. Linda, I see you eat meatballs quite a bit. Would you mind sharing that recipe?  I seen my Nut. yesterday, lost 8# in last 3 wks, but she wants me to add more carbs to my day. I'm going to try to keep a food diary. She wants me to get in only 50gr protein, but 100oz water. I need to spread out my proteins more but she realizes I am pre-op so I still have a bigger appetite. I'm trying to sense the "full" feeling cuz I've always gone way beyond that when I eat. I love salads so maybe I'll add more of them into my day. But then again, after surgery salads aren't the best to digest. I want to start a good pattern here that I can carry into my post-op life. I really enjoy reading how everyone eats everyday..good examples. Alice

Hi all, Hot here but the humidity has broken. Horrific wind last night blew all my lawn kitties all over the place. I hunt for lawn kitties wherever I shop so much so my husband has even given up rolling his eyes. Smart man! I have compromised in that I only have a few tastefully placed on the front lawn and save the rest for the fenced in backyard! LOL Breakfast: Protein shake Snack: Few bites of Greek yogurt with fresh berries Lunch: 1/2 cup homemade turkey chili Snack: Few bites of banana with peanut butter Dinner: Going to Applebee's with a girlfriend. I'll probably get the steak/portabello combo off their Weigh****cher menu. Have a great day! Bonnie

Bonnie, try the cajun lime tilapia at Applebees...if you like fish...you can substitute the seasonal veggies for steamed broccoli...yum. The fish is alittle spicy but very good. How do you make your turkey chili? I'm in the recipe collecting mode. Alice

Alice,
Is tilapia mild? I am not a big fish person but will eat sole or shell fish. If it's a mild tasting fish, I'll give it a try.

My turkey chili is a simple recipe. I take one pound of perdue ground turkey and cook it in Pam until it loses it's pinkness. I season with salt and pepper. Then I take two cans of red kidney beans and two cans of black beans and drain and rinse all of the gunky stuff off of them. I add the beans to the ground turkey. Then I open two cans of ro-tel tomatoes with the chili's and add those, then two cans of Hunts petit diced tomatoes. I cook it for an hour or so, until I see some of the beans split.  That's it. I am not into spicy but if you are you can season to taste with chili powder. This has been a recipe staple for me for a long time. Protein from the beans and the turkey can't be beat. Bonnie

Bonnie, Hmmm ... lawn kitties sound interesting. My hubby and I compromised on live kitties. If I don't bring home anymore and he will continue to clean the litter boxes. Sounded fair to HIM. When the last two came home he said "8 IS ENOUGH". then added "OR ELSE".  Mine are all black. Started as a coincidence then I discovered I kind of like their purrsonalities. My furbrats. Annette
