Size 12 Jeans!

My size 14 denim capris are getting droopy, so today when I was in town running errands, I went to the Goodwill Store to try to replace them.  They had nothing even close to my size, but for yucks I tried on some size 12 regular jeans.  I didn't buy them because the legs were cut too baggy for my liking, but they fit perfectly in the waist and hips!

This makes me feel much better about the pound I gained this past week.  Especially after doing an aerobics class this morning with a 19-yr-old instructor who couldn't have weighed more than 100 lbs (and all of it muscle covered with flawless, tanned skin).

I can't remember the last time I wore a size 12.  I was a 14 when I got married 21 years ago.  Now the question is: do I brag about it to my husband, who doesn't even know what size I wore when we got married?

Of course brag.  I don't know about you but my husband is not even fat and he brags all the time.  I don't know if my hubby knows sizes either but he does realize that I don't have to shop at plus size stores anymore.  I still go there for my bras because they fit better and have more selection for me but have gone from a 44 to a 40 even a 38 sometime.  That is probably the biggest thing being able to find clothes anywhere.  Everything is so much cuter and more selection.  I was a size 22-24 now a regular 16 and they are starting to get loose.  I don't like tight so when they get baggy I will get new.  I may buy some shorts before they can't be found.  Sometimes when you get to a lower size you can't find the summer clothes, even in California.  It's crazy because we where shorts all the way into October November.  I have even started using spray on tan.  I found a good one.  Now that I am wearing shorter shorts I need the tan legs to go alog with it.  If only I could get rid of the celulite and the somewhat wrinkly skin above my knees.  Ahh!! the joys of getting older.  When I lost weight at a younger age, I never had any issus with skin.  I consider myself lucky because mine is not to bad compared to others.  but I notice it more now than I used to.  I also had some liposuction 2 years ago before I had WLS.  I was 212 at the time so it was dumb but now that I am 188 it shows more.  I had my tummy and thighs sucked.  I would never do it again though.  It was way more painful than WLS.  They don't tell you that.  Well anyway, Brag away.

So, tell me about this spray-on tan stuff.  It is do-it-yourself stuff, or a salon thing?  I've never had good luck with do-it-yourself tanning products (too streaky/orange), but I've been tempted by a local salon that does a "Magic Tan" spray-on tan for $20/session. Jean

I use Nutrogena micro mist.  It is the best one I have ever used.  It sprays on and does not seem to streak at all.  The best part is I just do it after I get out of the shower about every 2 days or so.  I paid alot of money for the salon spray and did not like it.  I got orange toes and fingers.  I use the Number 3 nutrogena and I am blonde and fair but not white.  It gives me a real nice brown and hides ugly marks on my skin, when I say hides I mean it just makes purple marks and stuff that I get on my skin show less especially on my arms.  I have this really thin skin probably from years of the beach etc and age and I bruise and get scratch marks really easy.  The darker my arms are the less it shows.  The Nutrogena micro mist is not cheap but deffinetly less than a salon and I think works much better .  You may not notice any thing at first but when you keep it up over time everyone starts asking how you are so tan and it is much better for you than the tanning beds or the sun.  I still go in the sun alot, living in California it can't be helped.  I drive a convertable and have a pool and go to the beach alot.  For some reason my legs just never get very dark so I help it along.

Congratulations Jean!! He may not know sizes but I'll bet if you pull out your wedding pictures he will note the difference immediately. Did you save your wedding dress? Try it on for giggles. I saved mine and it would hold me plus the entire wedding party.  Annette

Annette, That wedding dress is long gone.  Now I wish I had saved it.  Oh well.  Maybe I'll dig out the wedding pix... Jean
