Great News
Saw my PCP this afternoon and he took me off my last blood pressure pill -- yea, yea, yea!!! I have to go back in two weeks to make sure the pressure stays normal. Today it was 120/80. Also, I only need to test my blood sugar twice a week now. Once in a.m. fasting, and once two hours after a meal. My morning readings have been absolutely right on. I asked him about taking diabetes off my diagnosis, but he says it will have to say "diet controlled diabetes"......pooie on him!
I had also lost 3 lbs. since I saw him four weeks ago. He is thrilled with my wt. loss.
Just had to share the good news! I am on cloud nine.

Done! Your Ticker:
Pat,
Oh, that's fantastic! I love stories like this. Just wish I could get my PCP to stop my Lipitor (cholesterol meds), but he's being stubborn about it even though my cholesterol and triglycerides are normal now.
What a blessing not to have to test your blood sugar every day. I hate those finger-sticks, even with the ultra-sharp tester thingie.
And good job on the weight loss. I sure could go for a 3-lb loss right about now.

Congrats Pat! Getting off of a med is like giving yourself a raise. "Diet controlled" is something to be proud of. It means you have taken charge and that darn dibetes is not going to control you...You control it.

Pat that is great news for you!!! I am sooo happy for you. You are doing just fantastic girl.
My diabetes is the same as yours. Some say their diabetes is gone but I am with the doctor. I always say that mine is under control with diet and exercise. I just have always thought that it doesn't go away but it remains under control.
Keep up the great work!! I too would like to have your 3 pound loss right about now. I have to lose .2 pounds by tomorrow to meet my goal of onderland. I have come to the realization that if I do not make it I will get there when I am ready for it. I don't like it but what can I do? Obviously my body has a different goal than I do. haha
I am sending special new hugs and love!
