Hi Kathi!
Glad everything went so well for you. Every surgeon is different, I guess. I didn't have a drain, so was able to have a shower before I went home == boy, did that feel good.

Keep sipping tha****er - it's really important. s/f popcicles really help too. Time will heal everything...and you'll be surprised at how quick it happens.

Again, glad you are home and our prayers were answered.

You go girl!

Pat

Hi Pat! Good to see you...  I can't wait to shower believe me......  Tomorrow.  I'm working on the smaller protein supply with a bullet today so I can leave more room for plain water.  I sipped water by my bedside several times last night so that will help I think. I do have popsicles here!  I still get hot and cold spells so I'll try that during a "hot" spell! Hugs, Kathi

Thanks very much, Bonnie! I sure hope you're right but I don't plan to run in my immediate future!  LOL  I still like my "coughing pillow" one of the aides made for me.  It just feels good to lay it across my stomach area. Hugs, Kathi

Hi Paulette! Hey, if I can do this....... YOU can do this, too!  You're gonna do great!  I'm glad I could help.  I tried to post the good and the bad along with it.  I think I was really lucky and had very little bad to go along with my story. Can't wait to hear your experience and compare notes!  This is a truly exciting time.  Just prepare as much as you can beforehand.  Live the protein experience now.....  you'll be better because of that! Hugs, Kathi

Welcome Home Kathi, We knew you would be our Shining Star. Sip, sip and sip some more. Those 4 pounds are fluid and swelling from surgery. No need to worry about them. They will soon be gone and take many more pounds with them Hugs Annette

Thank you so much for the welcome, Annette! I don't know about Shining Star but you are one of my great inspirations!  I just want to be past the beginning stages of all this as soon as I possibly can.

Still get rumblings in the tummy and I know it's the remainder of the gas in there but....... GO AWAY already!  LOL  Patience is a virtue......  I'm not real virtuous I guess!

Thanks for being there and the help and support you provide so often!

Hugs,

Kathi

Kathi, The painful gas will soon go away. Take little walks often throughout the day. 2 or 4 laps in your hallway will be good for starters. The noisy part may get even worse. Not pain, just tons of noises after eating. Melanie thinks it is funny and tries to wiggle to make her tummy talk too.  You have already displayed an enormous amount of patience as you muddled through the intake process. No virtue problems for you!! Annette

All I can do is repeat what everyone else has said.  You're doing GREAT!!!!!  Sounds like you have everything under control and as usual, your attitude is wonderful. Keep doing what you're doing, nothing to add from here except welcome to the loser's bench Gentle hugs

Susan
