OT: weather stuff
We're ok here in Sturgis -- didn't even get any rain to speak of. Seems all the really "bad" stuff went north and east. It was very hot, humid and 20-30 mph winds however. Think they have even lifted the tornado warning for us.

Done! Your Ticker:
Bad weather up here ... straight-line winds (kind of like tornadoes but no funnel clouds), thunderstorms disrupted our big Festival of the Arts downtown (something I never go to because I never have any money and there's too many people and no close parking) ... anyway, the thunder scared the kitties ... Nettie was sleeping in the closet in the bedroom before I went to work. Everything was fine when I left. Hate leaving them when the weather is threatening, though.
the threats were so bad in ohio that i made michael take the birds and the dog to the basement and i gathered callie cat into a carrier (hasn't been in there since we moved here!) to get her to the basement...we sat for half hour of some wind and then it was gone- out over the lake....but stuff did touch down southwest of debbie g and me
weird -it was so horrid sounding as we listened to the tv that i felt impending something and packed some essentials- cell phone keys wallets and water flashlights and dog leash before we went downstairs and we were both (somewhat ) dressed....after we had sat there for 20 minutes it was as if nothing happened and it was out over the lake over the islands and cedar point. makes me question whether or not i can actually "feel " a threat anymore....does that make sense??????
anyhow good to know all of us are ok....
well-amend my everything is ok! just got a call from my son in weston (a lil south and west of bowling green ohio) so how close to melissa? close i think--anyhow their power went out last nite and lotsof tree damage...they are still without power so they are taking michael and me to breakfast! the two year old grandson cannot understand why Thomas won't come on his tv this morning so they'll probly come here after breakfast so he can get a Thomas fix at nonnie and grampas!
so i am presuming melissa is without power ...hoping all is well with her and hers.....
Hey, here I am in Indiana and I haven't blown away yet. We had a really bad storm the night before last but I slept right through it!! What can I say~I was really tired!!! I was told that the thunder and lightning was so bad and the rain just beat. It has been very windy here. At times the wind got to 70 mph. It has been really bad for that. Today seems to be better. My gf from Terra Haute just called me and they have gotten almost 6" of rain since last night. She is stuck in her house since all the roads are closed. If you would keep them all in your prayers I would appreciate it. Hope this weather stops soon and the storms all just go away!!! I am glad that so far all is fine with all my sisters. Just think that if power outage is the worst thing that happens to us in our lives how lucky we are going to be.
Power must have gone out here sometime around 7:30 last night and come back on sometime just before 8 ... I know this because I set the DVR to record "Jeopardy" every night and it didn't go on until Final Jeopardy, so that would be at about 7:50 p.m. We were fine downtown, but I'm about 15 miles west of Grand Rapids. Oh well, at least I know who won Jeopardy last night! And I got all of the White Sox game ... hey Brenda, how bout those Sox, they're doing pretty good!
I feel like I am back living by Lake Erie. So much water. All the fields look like lakes.Sat night was awaken by tornado sirens. F-2 hit about 4 miles away.( Friday night had been bad but not so close) After church yesterday everyone got together with trucks to help the parents of one of our "flock" water up to ankles at their house, they last every thing and had to rebuild last year. many of our Legion families are farmers and are losing so much. I guess all of Hamburg IA isunder water, will be very busy for weeks to come helping families fill out disaster paper work. Here where I work at the Salvation Army we are being encouraged to take shifts in Ceresco NE doing meal duty because that town was almost flattened.
