Does anyone wear an apron?

I absolutely hate to look at myself after losing 100 lbs. I had hanging skin before...but not like this!  I know that if I don't have plastic surgery to remove this so called apron...I'll never be with another man. Does anyone else feel like this? Do men feel like this as well??

I figure if a man has an issue with this then he isn't for me. I don't settle for less then I want when it comes to men. I love myself....I have worked hard to lose this weight. If I am not perfect so be it. I feel wonderful. I have tons of energy and couldn't care less about my loose skin. I am the same person, fat, thin, loose skin and all. This is just my opinion. Love yourself for who you are!! Hugs, connie d

Here, here!!!!  My idea of ultimate revenge is to get male attention and tell them "you didn't like me fat so to heck with you now".   lol I know I'll probably change my mind later on, but for now I like thinking this way.  After a lot of years of not liking myself then finally learning to love me, I'm really protective of the person I've become!   If your apron bothers YOU then by all means do what you have to so you feel good about you.  Don't do it for anyone else!!!
Hugs! Donna L (finding_me) - I just know I'm here somewhere...

I have a huge apron and haven't even lost very much yet.  Mine developed during pregnancy when I developed pre-eclampsia, gained 75 pounds, had to lay in bed last 3 months, then had a vertical c-section.  I imagine mine will be really bad but I am hoping that I will be able to get insurance to cover removal of it.    I hope a man chimes in on this thread.

Hugs Fran, If a man doesn't look beyond the outside to see the inside person ... well shame on him and he's not worth much. As we age our looks are going to fade, unless we are Joan Rivers. It's what is inside that really counts. But do whatever it takes for you to love and appreciate yourself.  Annette

I've lost 180 pounds and have a big "apron" and haven't had plastic surgery ... I could probably get insurance to cover removal of it but I have had enough surgery what with the RNY and a knee replacement ... I've had it with the pain! You know, I've never had a man in my life, and I don't really need one to "complete" me. If one happens to come into my life and doesn't like me the way I am, he's not for me. I look at people for what they are on the inside, not the outside. I didn't like being considered for my "outside" when I was fat, and I refuse to do that now. So any man who wants me has to accept me as I am, "apron" and all.

My first comment is this... if you hate yourself, it'll be tough for someone else to love you, apron or no apron. Second.... I would not want anyone that was so shallow that it mattered at all if I had an apron or not... really, in the whole scheme of things, that is, the "big picture", physical things are such a trivial item as to be totally off the scale... The things that matter, i.e. Love, humor, character, honesty etc. knock the trivial things so far down the list as to make them minute and certainly not worth even a fleeting thought... Of course, big hooters are mandatory (That was for you Connie and others requesting the "old Marc" ) Muhuhahaha!!! Really, reduce the importance of the physical things and the others will fall into place...

Oh I am new on this board and also over 50 and have lost over 100 pounds and  dont have a very big apron so far but want to lose about 50 more pounds. when I read the  title and it said does anyone wear an apron? I was excited ! I have aprons of many styles and colors. 4 cobbler aprons 1 BBQ apron 1 half apron with chickens on it I also have several vintage apron patterns that I plan on sewing some old fashioned aprons. But then thats not what us WLS people mean...LOL I hope everyone that wants to get rid of their apron can. For right now my kitchen and garden apron covers up my body apron.

I just wanted to thank all of those that responded  to my last message. I am so self concious.....not only with men but anyone. I'll always try to hide my gut when I have to sit down in public....I guess thats why I'll usually stand when I'm surrounded by people. I do like myself better than before, I really do.....I just can't take it when approaching someone, they will automaticly look down at my crotch area. Anyway, thanks again for all of your support...ooxoxox  Fran
