Fall GTG info

Count me out for this weekend. When you have long weekends during the school year you really hate to spend them away from the kids and DH. Also its too hard to plan this far in advance with the school year.

It looks like places like this are pretty pricy $$$$ since they are tourist traps and its in October too (Octoberfest). Looks like it would be a pretty expensive couple of days. Especially the hotels.

When we were planning the Pittsburgh Get Together everyone was concerned about the hotel prices. We tried our hardest to get the lowest rates and a decent hotel. And I thought we did a good job.

I want to save my pennies for the New York get together with Laureen since she brought that get together up back in Pittsburgh.

mary-first-i understand -with you having kids at home still yes; this is a pricey place- and the hotel is an issue-however- we are also looking at one add'l nite-so it evens out... and includes a hot meal and drinks...all things to consider.... you guys did an awesome job with the hotels- so you needn't feel defensive! i am having a hard time swallowing these prices but am looking at what we are getting for them and what we paid in texas and it evens out..... unfortunately-oktoberfest is held in september so we miss that! not every trip is for everyone! you will be missed-and if you change your mind; that is ok too! the more the merrier!

Hey Margo, Every time we start planning one of these GTG's I so want to go but something comes up. So, after Dallas I decided the NEXT one I'd come to.  Well, my lovely, I just checked the airfares and I can't believe the round trip flight would be almost $500 Unfortunately, unless I win the lottery, I won't be able to afford to come.  Maybe a rich uncle will leave me a pot full of $$$??  Guess I'd have to have an uncle for that to work Signed, Susan sitting at home again (sigh)

susan i am not counting you out yet---it is really actually too early to get good airfare--keep looking!!!! we'll hold hope!!!!!!

No, I'm not giving up hope either!  I'll have to see how things shake out after going home in July for our niece's wedding.  Should cost a pretty penny for that. I'm still kicking myself for not going to Dallas when it was only a 5 hour drive.

I have found this to be a useful site.  I found Little Rock, AR to Detroit, MI on 10/10-10/13 is 300.00.  I use it quite a lot.  FARECAST.com Diane
