Hi Michele and welcome. The nurses are used to handling this situation.  You wouldn't be the first.  But if it makes you more at ease give your coordinator a call.  Also, I had not had a period for about 4 years prior to my surgery.  Three days later I had a full out and out period and did so for about 3 months.   Good luck with your surgery and again Welcome.
