What's New WEDNESDAY?

Good Morning Annette & OFF Family! The weather is grey, rainy and muggy here, oh well, it means my grass and flowers are ok for another week.   Here at work, trying to make sure all is squared away as this is my last workday before I leave for Germany on Friday.  I'm finally excited that I'm going and looking forward to seeing the wee ones once again, as well as their Mommie & Daddy! My bag is packed with the exception of my clothes and still in search of a Cement truck to bring to my sweet Vaughn. Ok, nothing else to report, so I guess I'll just wish you all a very good day, prayers, positive thoughts and hugs to all, Laureen

Hi Annette, I have such a wow moment today. this morning i mowed for 3 hours with a push mower no less lol It has been forever since i could use a lawn mower, and no self propeled either. It is amazing what we can do after this surgery isnt it? It is getting up into the high 80s and one day got to 92 then it rains. we get the lawn all mowed and three days later it is needing it again.  We are working ourselves silly with the rental house we bought. we have stripped cabinets and bathroom clear and going to re do both of those rooms with new stuff. then paint all the rooms and put down laminate flooring. I think it will look very good when we finish.  well got to get back to work. dont thnk i will mow any more till tomorrow morning.

Hi Annette, Margo and everyone: Seems to be gray and gloomy everywhere today. Yes, it's like that here, too. Good sleeping weather, which is good for me in the morning. I was able to sleep til 11 without any problems. Well, there were lawnmowers in the morning but not too close to the windows. I had this horrible pain in my butt all last night at work. One of my coworkers (she works in the features dept. part time and types in the calendars, etc.) is a part-time massage therapist. I told her last night I wished I could hire her to help get out this pain in my butt ... she suggested I get one of those Icy Hot patches ... well, I happened to have some in my desk drawer, and that reminded me of that. So I cut it in half and put half at the base of my spine and half on the area that was irritated. It seemed to help a bit. It cut down on the pain until I got home and could use an ice pack (which really helped). Must have been some irritation from the injection at the pain clinic Monday. Never had that happen before, but they say that can happen and to use an ice pack for 12 hours ... well, it was past 12 hours. Plus, of course, my knee hurt. I chalk it up to the weather.  So with the aches and pains out of the way, I was able to sleep fairly well. After that, there isn't much new. I'd be up for a get-together but probably not until the fall. Where I'm at on the seniority list won't allow me to take off any time until then. Pretty much every week in the summer is spoken for, plus I'm pretty broke right now. I can't even envision being able to save anything until the fall. My budget is so tight the pennies are squeeking. And it would have to be some place I could drive, preferably carpool. Hey, I'm up to beer-tasting too! Wish I could be more optimistic about my options but I'm in a bad way about money right now. Things are not good at all. Well, I've had one cup of coffee and that's all I'm probably going to have today. Don't even know if I'm going to ride my bike. I'm feeling very lazy. I should get in the shower. Have a good day.

Margo, This is OUR thread, so vent all you need. Sure sounds like there is a need too. I think there must be a full moon or something going on here. Thank goodness we can let off some steam with each other or we might explode.

Oh my gosh- there are lots of emotions going around today. Thank goodness we have this spot for venting. First off, I want to thank you for the support of my friend Sally yesterday. We had a nice visit and she felt so much better after the hours of hugging, crying and visiting. She did not have the flu.... after we talked a while all of her flu symptoms disappeared. She just needed support. Isn't that what we all need? I took some pink roses with babys breath and a little stone dove and we made a little spot with her dog Cookie's picture as a little memorial. Grief is so potent- I think that most of our depressions are based in grief. That is probably why we relate to each other when we are grieving. Little issues fall away when we are confronted with the big picture. Anyway, thanks! Today I'm cooking chili and cleaning. I am running to the store now to get some forgotten ingredients. I am also getting some pictures printed- I sure love my digital camera. It makes this process so easy and quick! I wish that scrapbooking the pictures was so easy and quick! If you are feeling sad I'm sending you a cyber hug- nice and long. Julia
