Good morning!  Hey Everyone! I hope you had a good weekend. Mine was great for a change. I had a basically non-eventful weekend. I spent Saturday morning working in my yard before the rain came. I watched some movies I had while I did laundry. I napped. I took a nice walk in the evening. My son, Geoffrey, was heading to Jacksonville, Fla in the morning so I had to take him to the airport. I told him he is so lucky I love him as I woulkdn't wake a 4 am on a Sunday for just anyone. I got him to the airport in time and returned home. My new friend came over for coffee not long after that. We spent the entire day together. It was so nice.He had to drive up to NYC to file some paperwork and I rode along with him. I don't think we stopped talking the entire day.  I enjoyed watching him maneuver NYC traffic like a pro. He grew up there and was a NYC police officer. I would still be sitting in some traffic jam. He knw the streets and different ways to get in and out of the city like it was nothing. I arrived home in time to head right up to bed.  I hope to have a rather calm week at work after spending 3 days resting. I doubt that will happen, but I can hope. Have a great day everyone. The birds are chirping for you!

Wow, Aime..... You know me..... a trip to NYC.... that's in line with the Thelma and Louise trip I took... that and D.C.  I've been to Miami and Key West.... but D.C. and NYC.... W.O.W. and that would be AOK...:) Glad you got some much needed rest and you have a friend..... life is indeed good for you, my Dear. Went to see Sex In The City yesterday with two friends.  Was great!!  But, then, I've watched all the reruns.  Never watched it while it was new. Wish they'd do the same for Allee McBeal.... I'd love to see an ending for that one. Pretty fast and quiet weekend for me... spent money... spent money....got the car serviced...spent money..... fed and clothed the little children on the reservation Saturday night.   When I got to bed last night it's the first since I got up on Saturday morning... where do I get my energy????  Son came from dinner yesterday evening early...we played a game of Hand & Foot... and he went home... I crashed on the couch... and then went to bed.... still up 3 lbs... it's got to go down... would love to take a water pill but afraid I'd dehydrate... I don't drink enough water as it is. I'm rambling.  Not enough drama in my life to post much.  Have a good week everyone. Janet

Hi Janet, I, too went to see Sex and the City.  I watched that series from the very first show. It was a lot better when it was on HBO. My son gave me the entire series on DVD.  I have always said that one of my trips will be to NYC. No friends of mine out this way want to go so it is farther down on my to do list. Hope life is treating to good. Debi

Aime, It's about time you had some fun. Good !!! I bought more new undies. My hips are 34" ... that's smaller than when I was in grade school. This was one part of WLS I didn't expect to happen so often. Instead of the parachute sized boring whites, I now buy every color of the rainbow. Cute little things that don't look like they should fit. An underfilled 'B cup' instead of an overflowing 'D cup'? That's too funny. I'm hoping this is the last time I need smaller sizes. This is getting expensive but actually fun. Is this what they call a cross addiction?  Annette

Good Morning Aime and My OFF family! Sounds like you had a nice weekend for sure and that you got to have some Aime time (along with your friend) is great!   I had a wonderful weekend at the PA Pilgrimage, a weekend put together by members of the PA OH board, which started as a small support weekend in 2005 and had just over 100 people in attendance this weekend in Lancaster PA.  The presentations, support groups, seeing and meeting people, both known and new, and, oh, the shopping available (lots of outlet stores), was great!   When I got home from there I tried catching up with my e-mail, started packing up my suitcase for my trip to Germany on Friday, there will be just enough room for my clothes (which, thankfully, are much smaller than last year, size 14s are now in my closet and fitting on my person), as it is full of things for the grandbabies and a couple of things that my DIL asked me to bring her.  After I did that I was off for our Sunday dinner at Kathy's house and then an AA meeting.  Well here I am, at my desk, 3 days of work this week and then I will be closer to seeing those sweet faced babies of mine. . .   Have a wonderful day and I am sending prayers, positive thoughts and hugs for all, Laureen

My Mantra is that I do not determine my success by the number hanging in my closet, nor will I let the scale determine that success either. . .  It is through trial and error I will continue to grow and succeed. . .  Laureen

Can you believe it, I to went and saw the Sex in the City movie too, with Liz. She  has the DVDs and has always been a huge fan, I watched them all, but really went just to have some Mom time with her, but I haven't enjoyed a movie as much in a long time, or teared up as many times.  I am excitedly awaiting  a delivery of the first season of "Meerkat Manor" that I orderd last week. I have never seen the show, but  Ilove the commercials and have always wanted to see it. If I end up not liking it I am only out $10. I did that with Kirsty Alleys "Fat Actress" series. Now THAT was a big waste of money, such a stupid stupid series. It is now time to get my eating in check, I have eatten so bad the last few weeks and it is starting to really show, so scary.Have a great day, Blessings

Aloha Aime and all my wonderful OFF sisters/brothers.....

Wow, I think I'm going to have to rent the Sex in the City DVD collection, or buy it. I never watched that program at all...but with so many of you loving it, I think that's worth looking into.

Aime....what a lovely weekend you described. You so deserve it!!! I'm glad you have a friend that you feel comfortable with, and who takes good care of you. I can't even imagine driving in NYC! I was so freaked by the highways in Calif......I'm used to my slow-moving traffic on Maui with people sightseeing as they go. I think I might have a panic attack in the big cities if I were at the wheel....Ha!

My weekend was delicious!! My 65th birthday yesterday was positively perfect. My phone rang all morning with calls from my kids, both of my exes, friends I hadn't heard from for ages, etc. Then my Maui friends took me out for dinner at the Beach Bum, a local hang-out at the harbor, and we all had a great gab fest and some ono (great) grinds.......!! I had fish tacos....blacked......they were fabulous! I ate all of the fish/cabbage/cheese, but not the tortillas. Also had a dinner salad and baked beans. Yum - O!! My friends also gave me a bunch of lovely little gifts.....a book on Hawaiian history, a gorgeous lei, the scent diffusers, more books, etc. All in all, a memorable day.

It's now Monday morning...my favorite day of the week. New beginning and all that. I'm going to do an hour or so on the lanai to keep up my tan, then head to Kaiser to have my blood drawn. I see my bariatric doc next week, and he'll be able to tell me why I continue to lose weight (hopefully). I saw some pictures taken of me while I was in Calif...and my god...I AM SKINNY!! I wish I could do the balloon trick and just squeeze the roundness in my buh-tocks up into my boobies, shoulders, etc. Sigh.

Here's hoping you all have a wonderful week, and that something miraculous happens in your life. Come share it with us!!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Hi All, I went to see Sex in the City too.... loved it! I agree that the HBO version is the "right" one to see when it comes to television.  I'm not working this week so I have some relaxing time. Happy Day to all of you! Julia

Hi All, I went to see Sex in the City with my cousin also yesterday. There was a classic car show and an art festival in Downtown SArasota so we spent the afternoon there. It was about 95 out. I finished up the paperwork on buying the car today. I came home from work sick as a dog. I have been vomiting all morning. I hope I dont have a bowel obstruction or something stuck. I think I have something stuck. I am going to do liquids all day to see if it passes. Well I am going to go and take a nap. Carla

Hi Aime and everyone: Well, it seems like everyone was into "Sex ... and the City" in one way or the other. I saw Indiana Jones ... much more my style ... I'd rather watch hunky Harrison Ford. He's still hunky even with gray hair. Then I watched hunky younger baseball players. Oh, also watched hunky younger Harrison Ford in the first Indiana Jones movie.  Didn't do much else other than laundry, talked to my mom, who quizzed me on whether anybody had anything planned for her birthday this week. I said I couldn't afford to come down, so I hadn't heard anything. She knew I couldn't come down and was OK with it. I'm still not OK, but know it's not in the budget, not at $4 a gallon for gas. Talked to my friend Margie in South Dakota ... it was fun to talk to her, we had a good long talk. The IRS screwed up her economic stimulus check, so she won't get hers until the end of July, even those she e-filed and direct deposited her return. This is someone *****ally needs it ... she is on social security and needed that check so she could go to Fargo and have her yearly checkup on her kidney transplant. Now, she had to postpone it until July. Stupid government! Today, I had my injection for my back, and boy did I need it. Even my left heel was hurting. I was about to call the podiatrist for some relief but after the injection, the heel no longer hurt. I guess it was referred pain from the sciatic nerve. Sometime during the injection, I thought I hurt the pain doc say something about something being "fused" but you know, they give me pretty good drugs so I might have imagined it or he said it about someone else. I had hoped he would come in to see me before I left, but he didn't. So I'm going to have to call the office to see if it was drug induced. I spent the afternoon at my coworker's house (she picks me up afterward) and then went to work at about 4 ... only I didn't get here until nearly 5:30 because ... I stopped first to pick up a salad at Wendy's, then get my prescription from Walgreens. Well, the girl at the counter said it would be 20 minutes. It was 4:30, I thought, OK, I can handle that. At 4:45, I came back and asked if my prescription was ready. The guy at the counter couldn't find anything in the system; it hadn't even been entered. There wasn't a place to sit ... there were two women there with five kids hogging all the chairs. One guy gave up his seat .... none of the kids did. I sat down next to this woman with two girls next to her and two boys running around the store. Her nose was running and she kept wiping it on her arm and complaining about how sick she was. She also kept threatening to whack her kids (which, believe me, I wanted to do, too ... but that's why I'm not a mother). At 5:15, finally, they called my name. Then I had to wait behind two more kids picking up seven prescriptions for someone ... Finally got out of there at 5:20 ... so much for 20 minutes! I got into work at 5:30. Luckily, I don't punch a time clock and we have a review tonight so we're going to be here late. I should have skipped Walgreens and gone over to the grocery store that hardly ever has much of a line ... it was just a little more out of the way on the way to work. Aime, sounds like you had a wonderful weekend, you sure deserve it for once.  Well, hope everyone had a good Monday. I did some work before I checked in. See ya tomorrow.
