Hi There, Its Saturday May 31st!!!!!
Aloha Carla and all of my OFF family,
Carla.....wonderful news about your new car. I almost bought that Versa...it was between that and a little Chevy Aveo, and I ended up with the Chevy, but it was a tossup....both economical and cute.
Well, it's 4:30 a.m. and I'm up for my shift with the babies at the hospital in just awhile. It's always kind of exciting to get ready to go to the hospital and wonder how many babies were born last night. After being in Calif. for the birth of my own mo'opuna (grandbaby), I have a new and fresh perspective on what these mothers are going through and will be going through in the next few days. I love that I get to take these babies to my office and test them....thus, I get to give them a snug and welcome them to the world. ALL of them are beautiful to me.
It has been sad to read the news all over the country lately. Gasoline prices are rocketing...and that is going to change the way the whole country lives. We here in Hawaii (the most isolated piece of land in the world) worry that products won't get to us, so many are stocking up, especially on rice (a staple for many here), toilet paper, etc. Our gasoline price was $4.48 yesterday, and continues to go up daily. I can already see the impact....the parking lots are half full, our visitor numbers are plunging because people can't find flights (Aloha and ATA have gone belly up), etc. We have just scratched the surface of the hardships this oil crisis is going to cause I'm afraid.
I guess all we can do is live our lives as fully as we can, and find our joy in love, appreciation and contribution in any way we can. That said.....here I go....into the day. If a hug could cure any ills, or make your day blissful.....you would all be well and full of joy....for a big hug is coming you way right now!

Hi All,
Today is my 54th birthday... I feel younger than I have in many years. Yesterday I was walking across the blacktop at recess and several teachers said that I even walk "light". It's great. I went to a retirement party yesterday that was such fun. I saw some old friends from 20 years ago. Today I have a TOPS workshop, a graduation party, and a dance. I'll be busy all day doing really fun "stuff"! Hope you are all having a great weekend too!
Julia
