Hijack........ Hello Nan.....I am glad to hear that Morgan is doing so well. Bless her heart. My daughter said the people at the Ronald Mc Donald House are just wonderful.  That too is such a blessing. There is always plenty to do...they, RM people, are involved in so many things. They keep everyone busy and free from worrying so much. I continue to keep Morgan and all of your family in my prayers. Nic is having quite a struggle with this new chemo. It makes him so tired he can't do much.  Everything he eats goes right through. You know the routine ...Morgan has had it all I am sure. He has 6 to 9 more weeks of chemo before he goes back to New York. I am so glad he gets two weeks off between treatments. His counts haven't been good. Thus he is so run down. Good to see you this morning. Hugs....connie d

Oh Connie, I am sorry Nic is having a hard time. I pray for him everyday. The 3F8 is a Godsend for Morgan & I hope it is for Nic too! Did they let you know how long after chemo Nic can start the new treatment? Chemo is so hard, I had it years ago & only a few treatments. My heart goes out to all these young kids that do it. Give Nic a hug for me & tell him he is my Hero!!!.  Nan

Thank you Nan.....this really is such a struggle.....but then you totally understand that!! I will pass your message on to Nic...he loves to hear from others. As for the 3F8....we aren't sure of that yet. They want to see what happens with the chemo. He will then go back to New York and the finally decision will be made. We arn't sure if he will qualify for 3F8 yet.  I am so happy for Megan and all of you....what a blessing!! Give Megan a huge gentle hug from me too. She is quite the hero too!! Hugs, connie d

Hi Eileen, don't want to do too much more traveling yet! I do come down often though, I have 3 beautiful Granddaughters there. I would love to get together. My daughter lives by 36th & Byron Center Rd. Just a hop skip & a jump from you. Nan

Good Morning, All This vacation stuff could get to be a nice habit to get into, long term.  Oh, wait, that's called retirement, isn't it???  I've been off most of the last 2 weeks, and am getting a lot done around the house.  On the lousy days, I just go into work, as we're allowed to give the time back if we want to.  My contractor finally showed up this week, and is working on extending the deck, and today will be working on repairing a built-in brick planter on the back of the house.  The two window replacements will have to wait, as he SAYS they haven't come in yet.  Hopefully in the next couple of weeks. Sometimes I think it would be easier and cheaper to just live in an apartment or condo, then I think, "But what would I do with all my "extra" money, then?"  I'm pretty frugal (translate: cheap...), and I plan well, but it seems like every extra cent goes back into the house.  I do love the place, though, and will likely stay here until I can't do the physical or financial upkeep anymore.  Today I'll finish weeding the biggest of the perennial beds and hopefully do a few of the smaller ones, and be done with the initial Spring cleanup.  Next week I'll start doing what I always do...Moving stuff around and putting it in new places to make the gardens more pleasing to the eyes and spread the color around.  My gardens are never "done".  They're always works in progress.  The last time I actually "finished" one, I decided to move because I didn't have anything left to do.  Go figure ! Tomorrow morning I leave for Detroit, where I'll be attending the Detroit OH Regional Conference on Saturday.  I've never been to one, and it's close enough to drive, so I thought I'd give it a try.  I also plan on attending the Pittsburgh one in July, if I enjoy this one.  I'm looking forward to seeing Debbie G and Melissa S again.  Is anyone else planning on attending?  Maybe we could connect, if not at the conference, then maybe for coffee somewhere.  Margo?  Any sistah I haven't already met?  I'll be in the Toledo area for the three-day weekend.  Let me know.  I'm not sure where everyone lives. Gotta get moving.  The contractor guy looks puzzled... Everyone have a great day. Candy

Not going, too far for me to drive (then again, anywhere is too far for me to drive). Too bad, it's in the same state, but three to four hours away and too much gas to use. Otherwise would love to see you, but it's on the other end of the state (I'm nearer to Lake Michigan). And I take gas holidays on the weekend ... don't go anywhere (don't have any money).

grammylew Where in Upstate NY?  I'm south of Buffalo.  I think we spend so much time in our gardens when we can, to offset the long, cold winters.  Those 3-4 months in the summer need to re-charge me for the rest of the year. Candy
