Kathi, The reason your menu is hard is because you are eating the WLS menu without the benefit of the pouch!!! Heck, you eat better than some of us who are already pouched. Soon, very soon you will join the bench and your good habits will be MUCH easier. I admire your determination.  What an inspiration to all of us.  Annette

Kathi, I agree with Annette.  Your journey should be easier because of the pre-op habits you've developed.  I  and your strength! Debboe

Good morning Sis. Since we missed Tuesday #1 and there was a holiday, is this hump day or not?  No nasty turkey on my menu for sure. Hot damn I was ill from it. Tom insists it was my busy day and not the turkey which caused agony. Yeah right - he can eat it all. B - blueberries, Kashi, cottage cheese L - don't know, I'll be gathering with family after the funeral services. This is the 100% Italian part of the family tree. I had to giggle because they all looked like a scene straight out of the Godfather paying their respect to one of the Don's. I swear I could feel Mom poking me to cut it out. D - ?? S - apple and peanut butter Have a happy day.

Annette, your description of "paying their respect to one of the Dons" made me laugh.  I remember as a child going to the services of a local prominent Italian crime figure "friend" of my pure French grandmother and pure German grandfather.  Oh my, the wing tipped shoes and pin striped suits, the wispering, the nodding of heads in one direction then the other, the men checking insides of their coats, possibly making sure their guns were in place - made a lasting impression on a nine year old girl.

Debbie, That was the scene which made me giggle. You described it to a T. All was under control until the stupid hats came off their heads. Not that many hats - fedora types - are seen around this town any more. If they had started kissing hands I would have had to leave. Giggling was bad enough, full blown laughter would have caused trouble. Growing up next door to this family was interesting. 7 boys and 3 girls - what a crew. The singing, the laughing, the OH MY GOODNESS FOOD, home made wine, and frequently a knock down drag out brawl by the end of the night. We could hear the Italian words and ask Mom what some of them meant. She would shake her head and tell us that THOSE words were not to be repeated. My Italian has faded from memory but I can STILL recognize THOSE words. The father and all sons were well known Masons in Ithaca. Until they retired, I think they had a hand in the construction of every new building at Cornell University.  Phew - you sent me on a trip down Memory Lane. Thanks --- I think. Annette
