Miserable Night....what do you do?
Aloha Joy...You know what? I had NOT even considered what you just said....and I think it's an excellent possibility. Eating with my family in Calif. wa**** and miss at best...a yogurt here, a protein bar there, a good dinner every night, but never enough during the day.
Thanks so much for a different slant......very much appreciated.

I'm so sorry you had such an awful night! I sometimes take Tums with Calcium (chewables) and found El Poucho tends to feel better. The pink stuff was something my surgeon told us not to use (can't remember why). The possibility of the time zone changes and the calm after the storm of little kids and a new grandchild could certainly be factors. Be gentle with yourself today! We love you!!
Aloha sister......I am taking note of the Tums with Calcium. Now that the pink stuff is OUT, I'll be trying other things if this happens again.
I've gotten SO MUCH invaluable information and support.....I am as always in awe of the caring that comes from this little family.
Thanks for yours!!

My sweet and kind big sis, Karen. I am so sorry that you had such a bad night last night. I will keep you in special prayers.
I am not that far out but I know that even this short time out from surgery I forget to chew. I have to keep in mind what I always told my neice when she was learning to eat~be a train and chew, chew, chew!
I am also one who can't vomit unless I am so sick that I want to sit in a corner by myself to die!! I have always been that way and probably always will be. I vomited one time since have wls. There has been times that I wish that I could and the best thing that I found was to make sure that I either sit up VERY straight if I am out or get up and do some walking. The only way that I am able to describe it is that it helps things to settle. lol
Like everyone said I would keep track of this for times it happens and if there is a pattern I would certainly tell the doctor.
I am sending lots of love and gentle hugs to you. I hope that this is the last time it ever happens to you.
Karen,
The getting sick happens to me about once or twice a month. For instance, some times I can eat something like cottage cheese and fruit that I've eaten since surgery and it's okay, but other times, I eat it and up it comes, or I have to go to bed, lie on my side, and be very very still. Yesterday, I got sick on a boiled egg. If it happens too often, I tell my doctor and he listens to my belly and orders test, so I try and treat myself before I go to him. Wrong, I know. Hope you get to feeling better.
Aloha J.......You are missed!!
Your experience is so similar to what has been happening to me. I have been eating that same cottage cheese/fruit/jello/nut salad for months and months. But that is what I ate when the pain began.
Me, too, on trying to fix anything that comes along and only resorting to calling doc as a last resort.
Thanks for your input.....

Hi Karen,
I hope today finds you feeling better.... I got nothing but a big ol' hug for you. Thank you for sharing as I continue to learn from everyone's experience.
I can only add that you are back on Hawaii water even. Different minerals and other magical goodies. You might not be drinking a large amount of the water but it can still affect you. I think the travel might really have something to do with it. But...... if it continues, I hope you don't wait until the middle of June to check it out.
Hang in there and soak up some of that Hawaiin love in the air!
Kathi
Aloha baby sister.......You are such a loving and supportive part of this little family....even BEFORE your own surgery. You give yet another very strong perspective that I hadn't considered.......different EVERYTHING from the past two weeks in Calif. My body is needing to get back to normal and I think was telling me to just stop and gently get back into my usual routine.
Thanks for always being there. You will have a lot of people cheering you on in just a few days......I'm so happy for you!
