Aloha Debbie.....I feel so much better knowing that others go through something like this from time to time. I never had one that lasted this long...that was the difference this time.

Both you and Marti mentioned just getting a gag going helps you. I think eventually I just had to really get everything out before my pouch finally settled down.

I am going to take this seriously.....and thanks for your always TLC.

Hello dear Karen:  I am so sorry you had such a difficult night.  I've only had one episode thus far and it was at work eating pepperoni.   I tend to eat unconsciously there .. too many interruptions, etc.  I was miserable for the entire afternoon.  Probably like others have noted I ate too fast and too much.  I'm trying to practice conscious eating.  However, life gets in the way but I'll try to remember...... love, nan

Aloha Nan, our baby sister!! It's so nice to have you in here with us. This is definitely a reminder to eat slowly, and not too much. I really think I ate too much at once and didn't chew good enough...and that started it.

OK, now you're starting to worry me!!  Didn't you have an episode a month ago or so? Not meaning to scare you, but the pain that I had in my stomach, which we later found out was the twisted small bowel, lasted on and off for two days, mostly after I ate.  It got much better, but it was almost two months later when I went in for my gallbladder surgery that it was discovered.  It didn't return every time I ate, but there were weird things that would trigger it, like dry cereal.  How strange is that? Anyway, again, I don't want to be an alarmist, but I'd sure keep track of it and maybe see your doc sooner if it continues. Gotta take care of you!

Aloha dear Susan......Yes, I am now writing down on my calendar when this one happened. Remember I was treated for diverticulitos when the last one happened. Who knows if that was the cause or not...the pain went away. And this thing came out of the blue.......after a long stretch of no problems except still losing.

So far today I've had a yogurt with bran, a protein bar, a handful of almonds, a bit of cottage cheese and doing fine. EXCEPT....the scale is showing me more weight loss......151 which less than I weighed in high school!!

You, and the others are giving me the nudge I need to take this seriously and not just sweep it under the rug now that the pain has subsided. Thank you so much.

Aloha nui loa,

Karen, I agree with Susan. Keep an eye on what you are eating and the symptoms. Kinky bowels and intestines cause all sorts of grief and don't show up on any tests. At least none of mind did, sorry to tell you that bit of news. The adhesions and scar tissues were only found through laproscopic surgery too.  For the past two weeks you have been eating very little and not mentioned complaints. Now you have begun to eat and the discomfort is causing grief. Don't wait too long if this continues. Call your surgeon and be heard!  I feel for you my dear. This is frightening to be in pain and continue to drop weight. Many gentle hugs. Annette

Aloha Annette.....I so much appreciate you and Susan especially who have been through something like this chiming in and giving me your perspective. Funny how I went along so smugly thinking I'm having no problems with WLS at all! Then, suddenly I'm at goal, and still dropping without trying. Hummmmm, something different! Then a couple of "episodes"....what is this?? Last night scared me because I hurt so badly......my body had to be trying to tell me something, but I just didn't know what to do.

If will call my surgeon before my July appointment if I have another one for sure. I do see my bariatric doc here on Maui in a couple of weeks. They are both good guys and will help me get this thing solved. I feel so much better emotionally hearing from all of you, though.

Thanks, and a big hug coming your way.

Welcome to MY world..... I have an 'episode' about once or twice a month, it seems... never the same thing.... just something.  I have found lately, that I'm eating too much and feeling it.  But when I get the yuckies, I put me to bed.  I got the yuckie's in Pittsburgh after we ate Chinese and had a Chocolate Martini.  And, funny thing, I had TWO of the darned things on Friday night after eating nothing but junk and it didn't bother me a bit. And I ain't losin' weight either. You, Annette and Susan need to put your heads together... this losin' weight thing is just going too far when some of us would like to drop another 20 lbs and can't!! Janet

Aloha Janet......What you said actually makes me feel better.....you are a few years out, too, and you don't seem to freak when these things happen to you, so maybe I'm making too much of it.

If this had been a pattern all along, it would be different but it seems like at almost two years, it's now suddenly a worry. I wonder if losing so much weight has given my "innards" room to flop around and they are all messed up. Everything else is sure flopping around....ha!

Annette and Susan are definitely on my radar for help with this. Thanks for your soothing words (really, they were!).

Mind you, I always check things out.... if they are 'new' to me.  Lettuce.  ICU.  IV's for fluid.  Once.  But, twice!!  No lettuce for me, ever again.  No landscaping on my plate. ALWAYS, ALWAYS check out your body parts when you see a pattern.  Everyone is so different, it's just learning new things about ourselves.   May not even BE the lettuce for me but I'm taking  no more chances. Get to your doctor, allay your fears, get on with life. Janet
