what's new saturday?

not doing much this week end. started clearing out a house that we bought to be a rental house. have lots of demolition to do first. I love doing this stuff. but my husband hates it so i guess i wont be buying anymore places to fix up. He said he would divorce me if i did, lol dont really think so but need to do something to supplement the income.  Got our garden all in and fenced to keep out the critters. Not a real big one right now but hopefully get the area done for a fall garden this summer.  Started watering all my flowers and trees and stuff this morning because it hadnt rained in a week as soon as i turned on the water to fill the bog garden it started raining and rained an inch and one half....exactly what the say stuff needs a week . lol Thank you God.  All my spring  flowers have bloomed and gone away now the lillies and day lillys are starting in to bloom. The peonies just are finishing up. OUr temps have been high 70 low 80 daily and 60s at night perfect weather.  Gas here is 3.60 now.  Have a happy memorial day week end.

Good morning to my lovely OFF sisters and brothers. I sure hear a lot of comings and goings today. It seems like everyone is out and enjoying the spring weather. That sounds like heaven to me! Nothing much going on here today. I am going to stay home and do some stuff around here to have it lookin' good for Monday. Bill's cousin is coming and bringing her grandson for a cook out. Bill found out that she is staying home by herself and invited her over. I thought that I would get steaks, corn on the cob, pasta salad and potato salad and some grilled veggies. I am going to make sf banana pudding with the sf wafer cookies and cool whip. I am thinking that should be enough. I want to get the veggies and I thought that squash, peppers, onions, tomatoes and zuchinis.  Bill is taking my car to our nephes house this afternoon to have him look at the back windows. The glass isn't staying up and I think it is the motor and they think that the glass is just off track. I am hoping that they are right since it would be better on my checkbook than if I was right! :-) The sun is out and shinning but it seems like it is a *****illy. I had the sliding door open a bit and then it seems like it got cold so I just shut it. I can't wait until the weather gets a little warmer and it is comfortable to sit on my swing and just read and people watch.  Better get going. I hope that eveyone enjoys their day today and I am sending love and hugs to all. I am saying prayers for everyone with special ones going up for those in need.

Happy Memorial Day! I'm puttering around cleaning- we have a little company coming on Monday and I just have to have the house "in order". Later today my husband (Alan) and I are going to look at bikes. We are going to get one for me so that we can ride the bike trail now and then. I need a "Grandma" bike. I need to sit upright and have easy gears and brakes. I'm scared of 10 speeds... I don't know why. I also will not ride on the streets... I'm scared of cars too! Ha! One thing though- if someone hits me they will get a BIG dent! I will not fall gently! The weather here is very comfortable- we had some sprinkles this morning but I think that's done. It should be around 80 today.  Julia

Happy Saturday Everyone! I've been so busy at work.....  Trying to get alot done in advance of being off for four weeks!  Yikes.....  Not much new to report from here.  Enjoyed the rain the last few days.  A far cry from the near-100 degree weather we had before.  I don't do heat very well so rain is much better for me.   My grandson has a big happening in church this weekend.  I'm sorry now that we didn't try to go to Phoenix for the event but I guess it's all for the best.  I'm quite sure I'll hear from him and he can fill me in.  He's 13 and a wonderful young man who acts as liturgist in his church quite often.  Gee, am I proud? So much going on for everyone and know you are in my thoughts and prayers and I'm as excited for the joys as you are! This is Memorial Day weekend so take a minute to remember our veterans. Hey Young -un,  Rest up, Yeah , I know how does a woman rest when she has so much to do to get ready for the rest of her life.  Welllllll, You sit you self down , put your newly pedicured toe nails pointed to the ceiling, see ya got to have the toe's done before surgery cause you'll be house bound for a few weeks, no driving you see, not till your Doc. says okay.  Okay back to resting.  The toes are pointed to the sun( that is when you get some) You have rubbed a lovely scented cream all over your resting self, A cool drink is by your elbow, the honey is at your beck and call. Just let him know he is in training for post surgery duty, You'll be needing his help til your back on your feet..Take a few deep breath's, and jell. Hug . Peg.   I Remember.

It's good to see you here, Peg! It's funny you would say pedicure..... I was just thinking I have time for one more pedi before surgery.  They told me I can't have pretty toes for surgery..... darn!  No polish.....  yeah, alright.  I was actually figuring out soon after surgery I'll be able to get in the spa chair!  LOL  Nail shop is within walking distance even! Hubby is going to be a wonderful Florence Nightingale for me when I come home.  He can't stand to have me gone overnight so he'll be real glad to get me back!  Anything I want........  yeah! Greetings All! Just got home from work...yeh, I work every other Saturday. It's hard to escape that in the medical profession. Had an unexpected emergency at work that had my adrenaline up for quite awhile after the fact. Had no time for fluids this AM...I'm trying to work it out that I can get fluids in at work, and if I can't do that then my nutritionist will probably suggest I don't have the wls. I've read where others have ill-like symptoms when they don't have enough fluids so I really need to work on this. I may have to right up a time sheet to cross off everytime I have a sip of water. For the longest time we were unable to have any fluids near our work area but now we can if it is a covered container. I've been trying hard to change my food shopping, meals and clean my home of "bad" foods but I still need to conquer the fluid problem.  Going to Minneapolis tomorrow for a graduation. Then Monday is all mine. It is supposed to rain but that's ok, I can always find plenty to do inside. Gas here is 3.92/gallon (lowest). This really dates me but I remember when I first started driving at 17 I could fill my tank for 3.00., in fact it was .27/gallon! It was only 1.30 3 yrs ago and now look at the increase.  I think the adrenaline is fading...I just had my firs****ermelon of the season and it was a good one. I ate more than I should have but I've only had a protein shake today so far. You all have a great weekend!!!  Alice

hi all, i got a new gps system for my car today. now i wont get lost driving around. my daughter got home safe and sound from denver at 5am. she drove straight thru. i gues she had a motive. she missed her boyfriend..... today i was off and just chillin. i took lily and her mom for coffee then to her house to play and do some potty training. she went 2 time for me and told me she had to go. i was so pround of her. now she is going to get a new puzzle that i have here at the house. she loves the puzzles. tomorrow i work and all week. now rest for the wicked..... carla
