Karen, I just know you're going to have a great time going back to Alaska!  We've been twice and did the Mendenhall float trip.  Great.  The first time we were there, we did the helicopter to a glacier where they left us on the glacier for about 30 minutes.  Walked and walked on the ice.   You should see lots of wildlife this time of year out of Sitka.  Enjoy your trip!

Karen, hope you have lots of cuddles with your girls.  Enjoy your trip - I'm jealous, I want to go on another Alaskan cruise - got room in your suitcase?  Yep, sounds like you priced your house too low.  Several years ago a coworker was retiring to TN, put their house on the market and within 3 hours it was sold! Be safe! Debbie

Hi Karen: I did the Alaska cruise the year after I hurt my knee and I was suffering from bursitis. It was my worker's comp trip. I hiked up to the top to see the Mendenhall Glacier (huffed and puffed is more like it) but what I really wanted to do was take the helicopter tour and land on it. Couldn't do it because of my weight, because they would have charged me 1 1/2 times. Really wanted to go back! By the way, my last cruise I lost 5 pounds; last year's cruise I lost 6 pounds. And I ate full meals every day, three times a day, plus snacks at night; plus a beer each day (Carla kept bringing snacks back to the cabin every night). Plus, I had dessert every night. I think I just walked off every pound I put on. Have a great time! I want to do the Alaska cruise again sometime, maybe after I get a full paycheck again and can save for it.

Good morning to all my wonderful OFF family members. Today is not looking so sunny yet. In fact I can't see the sun anywhere around. I do hope it finds us sometime today.  I am going to Wal Mart this morning. I have to get some yogurt, Crystal Light and some more B12 dots. I ran out yesterday of my dots and so I have to get some for today. It would be nice if Bill took me for lunch but I am not sure about that. I have a coupon for my birthday lunch at a place here in town. I would like to go there and I think that Bill will go for that since he loves that restaurant too!! I can bribe him with the coupon for a free lunch for me!!! Hey~a woman sometimes has to resort to bribery at times!!! I am not above bribery if it is going to bring me what I want.  Tonight I am going to sub for my bff Ella and her bunco group. I have done that for them several times before. I enjoy all the girls and what is so nice about their group is that they meet early and end early. Several years ago when I had a group with 7 of my friends we started early and they just kept going and going. We were only going to serve a light refreshment and then it ended up being a whole meal and that got to be a pain in the butt. There was one girl in there that I swear the bunco club was her only form of entertainment in her whole life. lol She had us doing a question for the day just like The View use to do. And then when had to have a birthday party for whoever had a birthday that month. It was nuts and we all got tired of it except for Roxanne. We finally broke up when Ella saw Roxanne at a school function and she came to sit by Ella and then she jumped up screaming that Ella smelled and she had to move. Ella was so embarrased and she said that she felt like everyone around them thought that Ella didn't shower. What Roxanne was saying is that Ella had perfume on and she has asthma. But everyone saw Ella's way of thinking and Roxanne wouldn't even apologize for embarrasing her. We broke up shortly after that. To this day Roxanne won't talk to any of us anymore because we thought that she should apoligize to Ella. Some people need so much drama in their life. lol Misty is looking out over her back 40 again this morning. She was haveing the best time yesterday with HER rug that is in front of the door. She is laying and watching the sea gulls fly around outside. She has an eagle eye at times when they are around and other times she just ignores them. Today they are really flying around there so that is why she is so engrossed them. They are beautiful birds and I love to watch them but they are sooo loud and smelly and they are mean too. They are all over around here since we are so close to Lake Michigan.  I suppose I should go now. I have gone on and on and it is time for me to finally shut up. I hope that everyone has a wonderful day today with many blessings. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers are going up for everyone. Special ones are going up for those who need them.

From what I have read so far, many of us were up off and on during the night. Must have been that beautiful full moon. I have discovered a wonderful second hand shop. It is small and run by volunteers from a local community. Clean too!! Shopping is not one of my favorite activities. The crowded store are overwhelming and I am prone to panic attacks. My Summer wardrobe is in great need of being replenished because nothing fits from last year. This shop has a good selection of small sizes and better quality name brands. I found a red dress and jacket (Land's End) for $5.00 - it looked brand new.  My boss called to ask about changing my work schedule. Instead of the two evening shifts, which completely tire me out, she asked if I would mind meeting my client in the afternoon. I wanted to reach through the phone line and give her a kiss. Annette

Morning all, I, too, was up way too early. Pain related and I have had it up to here! I would be in pure heaven for even 6 hours of uninterrupted sleep. I have pain meds but am very careful as I don't want to keep upping them and upping them as I become tolerant. So, often, they don't do much for me. The only things that have not improved for me after WLS are the sleep and pain. Supposedly scar tissue from my esophageal surgeries is the culprit and there is nothing to do but pain management. I don't know. Whatever. Not too much new here. Work is good, after lunch though I get sooooo tired I have to fight to keep my eyes open and not just lay my head down for a nap. Sorry for the "cheery" note, I better just stop. Have a good Tuesday all, Cheryl

Good Morning to all you wonderful OFF people! Sorry to hear that many of you had sleeping problems last night, but I actually had a good night's rest with one interruption from Dillinger. It is grey out again and supposed to be this way through Thr, if they have things right. . .  but then the weekend outlook is very nice here in the mid-Atlantic region of the country, I sure do hope so, as I'm very tired of weekend rainy weather! Hope you all have a good day! Prayers, positive thoughts and hugs to all, Laureen

Good morning!

I slept, but woke up with a pounding headache. I don't know if it's the estrogen I "inserted" last night, for the first time (new script) or what. Could be the weather . . . supposed to rain today and sometimes that pressure hurts.

I went for a girly checkup yesterday . . . I've been soo good this year and I've had my mammogram, colonoscopy, and finally a girly checkup . . . first time in about 10 years. Didn't think I needed one again but she told me there's some kind of peritoneal cancer that can occur, it's rare but it happens . . . soooooo . . . . .

Guess I should get busy and make lunches . . . have a good day!

Joyful hugs,
Connie

Hi Darlene and Everyone, Sorry to hear about the bad sleep patterns and hope they work themselves out.  I didn't want to get up this morning for some reason. Appt. with the WL surgeon yesterday went very well.  On schedule for June 5.  I lost 7 pounds in this last 2 weeks so diligence does pay off.  Went over lab work that shows I'm low on Vitamin D.  I guess living in a "cave" (which is what we call our first floor condo!) doesn't allow for much sunshine.  Started taking extra Vitamin D for that.  Also, she says my protein is low.  I explained to her I had to cut down on protein in order to lose the weight she requested I lose.  So I'm back to eating more protein and as long as I don't gain any weight......  That means 2 1/2 weeks to my surgery!  A very good thing..... Hope you all have a great Tuesday, Kathi

Good morning ladies and gents! (Where are our gents anyway -- they seem to have abandoned us) Hello George and Marc - we're missing you!

Went and got mulch and flowers yesterday afternoon. I picked out New Guinne (sp) impatiens because they are more sun tolerant, but they were expensive $2.49 each and I only bought 8. May go out to K-Mart or Wal Mart and pick up a few geraniums. Now just need energy to get out there and plant them....may wait until later in the week when it's a little warmer. Sun is shining this morning but it's only in the 50's!

I lost three lbs last week since getting on a reduced dose of the beta blocker.....that was really encouraging.

Ordered a few new items from Lane Bryant this morning as I have nothing for summer. I'll be glad when I can buy off the rack...shipping is outrageous. I am between a 20W and a 22W in slacks....and actually found an 18-20 top at K-Mart sunday that fits perfectly.

My church has a senior social once a month and I haven't been going because they usually serve something I can't eat. Today is pulled roast beef and salads, so I am going.
It's the last one until fall and we usually have around 30 people show up -- good fellowship!

Need to get drinking my crystal lite....have a wonderful day everyone. Remember Jill who is having a dilation today for a stricture.

Pat

P.S. the piano recital went very well - all the kids played their pieces w/o mistakes. One student couldn't come because of a death in the family, but everyone said they really enjoyed the concert.
