Good morning, Linda, I hope you get the meds straightened out soon. I'll be praying for you.
I'm fighting a dragon of my own right now and it's called a stall. I'm stuck! So for this week, I'm just going to have a protein shake for breakfast and lunch, then a regular dinner. No snacks! Tonight dinner will be meatloaf, steamed cauliflower and green beans.
Hope your week turns out great!

Linda,
Thank you for the vote of confidence. The support groups are my inspiration each week.
I usually have a very small agenda which can change depending on the issues of the people. The meetings begin with a check-in. Each person gives a brief update, telling their stories.
Often I ask people to tell what they ate for the day. The differences are amazing. That gives us a chance to compare and ask each other questions - much like you do with this thread each day. Often we can suggest ways to tweak our intake, such as adding more protein, changing the carbs, or alternate protein drinks.
We discuss family issues, our WOW moments, struggles, exercise, nutrition, labs, and all the life changes involved in WLS.
I send out meeting notes to the people who attended or have come in the past. Many have said this helps them get through another week and reflect on what was said. I don't use their full names to protect confidentiality.
If anyone would like to be on my meeting note list, send me a PM with your name. e-mail address and I'll include you on my list to receive the notes. Don't put it on this thread - that's much too public.
Have a better day - we got up on the right side of the sod. That's always a good start.
Much love,
Annette
Hiya sis, I have struggled the last few weeks with my food due to meds, do to a miracle, I have lost 6 of the 10 pouns gained. The worse thing was my head, in my mind, I gained over 200 pounds, started looking at clothing like it was not gonna fit, the whole mind screw.
You are a wealth of knowlege and I would love for you to share some tidbits from your meeting, I have a hard to impossible time trying to get to support groups and up in time for work.
So jump on in now and again, dear one,
Hugs!
UNITED WE STAND - DIVIDED WE FALL
Thanks again Linda but I couldn't do this WLS lifestyle without all my friends and family.
Living by The Golden Rule was easy but there is no set of rules for WLS which apply to all of us in every cir****tance. We pool our resouces, lean on each other, give hugs, love and understanding to each other. Impossible days are endured by group effort and sheer dumb luck.
Yes, we all know about 'mind screws' - they are the absolute worst kind of screwing. A saying from Mom " If I'm going to get screwed, I want to get kissed" Well, how to we kiss ourselves? I forgot to ask her that when she was here, darn it.
By helping each other we muddle through and soothe our own spirits??? As you start the thread each day you give us hope and knowledge. By responding to each of us I think you are giving yourself some self love by the very act of sharing. Sharing and caring is one of your many fortes - it sure makes all of us feel better. We hope you know that and feel good about yourself also.
Okay my Sister - I'm am starting to run off at the mouth. Time to get my butt off this chair and do that 4 letter word called housework.

Hi Linda,
Balancing those meds can be so frustrating and it's happening when you're too sick to deal with it too. I hope all goes well with making you feel better.
Here's what's eating me today. My daughter-in-law has sent me three emails leading up to our visit this coming weekend with subliminal messages that our visit is a pain in her a**. She has to control everything. We are already staying at a hotel. Her request because it is too much with three kids for us to sleep on the living room floor on an aerobed. (We have found that this rule is just for us.) We will not be with them for breakfast (her suggestion we should eat the Continental Breakfasts at the hotel) hint-hint. We said we would bring steaks from Costco - she wants to know if we are bringing the potato and vegetable too. She emails - how many meals will I need to prepare for you so I can plan/shop? (I already offered to go to the grocery with her and pay for the food.) How much is it to throw together some spaghetti and meatballs or throw a couple burgers on the grill??? We are taking them out Saturday night. Then she tells us not to stop by our sons work on the way to their house for a total of five minutes to say Hi! because he is too busy at work. You would think that because we will only get to visit them two to three times a year she could suck it up and make it nice for us. If it weren't for getting to see our three precious grandkids - I'd skip it. You always hear stories about the MIL from hell but what about the DIL? Thanks for letting me vent my OFF Friends. I feel better already.
