Hi Carla, Gas here is at $3.95.  We have a trip planned to visit our Grandkids for a long weekend ( a five and a half hour drive).  Other than that we won't do much traveling.  Hubby is using up vacation days by taking off every Friday until the end of the fiscal year - June 30.  Today he is home installing a 42" flat screen LCD TV on the wall in the living room.  We got a great deal at Costco.  I'll be watching a lot of TV until the "new" wears off.  I'm glad it's in time for all the season finales this weekend. I'm also glad I got all my gardens done.  There is still a lot of other yard work and home improvement projects to do so we'll be staying home. We are in for a week of rain here.  I'm going to get my B-12 shot today.  Maybe that will give me a little energy. My heart is heavy hearing about the cancer in our young ones.  I will say a prayer for each and for their families. Bev

TGIF.. We are having a jean's day at work today, well every friday this month. pay $2 and get to wear jeans. I usually can hardly wait to get home and change into my jeans, before WLS it was sweat pants, now I seldom wear sweats. but love my jeans. I bought my son a micro wave for Christmas. Last week my dear 14 year old granddaughter, Faith, cooked a couple of individual sized pizzas in it, I am guessing she read the oven instructions instead of the microwave ones, well she cooked each for 12 minutes and ended up killing the microwave. I found a killer of a deal on a microwave at Nebraska Furniture Mart and asked her if she would like to earn the $$ to get it for her dad for Fathers Day. She jumped at the chance so I got my smelly pond cleaned out by her and my final garden almost finiashed I am so excited. Now tonight I will plant veggies at Chucks, he tilled me up a large garden. I didn't winterize my roses and I lost a lot so yesterday I dug out dead and replanted rose bushes, then but down the red mulch. I want everything ship shape for when my step mom arrives next week for the wedding(8 days till liz's wedding) She always looks at everything and says oh, you sure have your Dad's green thumb, he would be so proud. That makes me so happy. Here I am 56 years old and still looking for dads approval.. silly isn't it? Blessings have a wonderful weekend. Donate  for a poppy to help support a veteran.

Hi All- Happy Friday! I'm sitting in my SWELTERINGLY HOT office trying to work. It's stuffy and the thermostat says 93 degrees and it's only 9:18 in the morning. It's even hotter outside, but my air conditioner is being worked on. When I left San Francisco  yesterday it was very hot there too. My good news is that the doctor told me that my left breast is fine. My  calcifications (that they were so worried about) are all benign. I'll still have to be monitored frequently, but they will bw watching the right breast more to make sure cancer doesn't return there. It was good news. I'm going clothes shopping with my daughter tomorrow- she has gift cards that must be spent! Julia

Good Afternoon Julia, so glad to hear that your tests were negative.  The waiting had to be terrible. Well, I didn't get the job I applied for a few weeks ago.  Just got the letter yesterday.  I'll stay active on the list for the next 2 years.  Not sure if I want to make a move anyhow, as I'll probably retire in 2 years.  My current job isn't bad, just don't like the boss and the atmosphere is pretty negative.  I've learned to ignore it most of the time, or to try not to let any of it get to me. I've been working 4:30 am-12:30 pm all week.  That means getting up at 3 am.  I have NOT been in a happy place this past week!  Next week I'm on vacation.  No plans except cleaning up the yard and doing some planting.  If the temp goes above 50, that is.  It's been a weird Spring. Right now, I'm headed down for a 2 hour nap, or I'll crash and burn before 6 pm.   No alarm clock for the next 10 days!!!  Except for the kitties, that is... Candy

Hi Candy, If you didn't get the job, then it wasn't meant to be for you for some reason.  Glad you're getting in a week's vacation!  Enjoy every minute of it.  Wish you were coming to California again!  It's hotter than hot here..... Hugs, Kathi

Hey Carla and everyone: Carla, get Carl some BreathRight strips; they're supposed to keep people from snoring. Don't know if that works, but they advertise it works. I use them when I get a cold to help me breathe better at night, and I find it does work.  Not much going on here. Slept late because I stayed up til 3; didn't get home til 1 because we had two reviews last night. I'm feeling kinda down and depressed, sort of lack of self-esteem too, don't know why except for the financial issues. Sometimes these things crop up when I have other problems. Just when they do, and I start to cry, one of my cats comes up on my lap and starts to purr. This afternoon, it was Diva. She's not usually like that, but there she was, just purring up a storm. Made me feel a lot better.  Well, it's the last day of the week and I still don't have a computer at home. Time to e-mail the computer geek and ask once again, when I'm going to get it back. This is getting very annoying. No plans for the weekend ... no money, and don't want to waste gas, so I'll just stay home and watch baseball. I pulled out a couple of crab cakes, and I have some jar alfredo sauce, so I think I'll have crab alfredo for the weekend. Sounds good, huh?  Have a good night and a good weekend. Margo, sorry to hear about your boss' daughter; Connie, hope all goes well with Nic. Candy, sorry you didn't get the job. Julia, glad the mammogram came out OK.
