WHAT'S NEW THURSDAY?

On a potty run! Be back in a minute.  I'm back now what's new with you?

Finally got the house listed yesterday! Realtor asked if we wanted a few more days. . . NO! It's either ready now or never will be. Enough already. Looks better than it has in years. I think the realtor was really impressed that we had not only listened to the home stager but acted on most of her suggestions. Now if we can just find the perfect family for our little rambler. I know when we saw it 23 years ago it looked absolutely wonderful to us.

Yesterday I met with the kitchen planner. He has already emailed me 3D renderings of the ideas we had together. Amazing how quickly those computers can put it all together. We'll meet tomorrow or Monday to pick out cabinets. I'll meet with the appliance person to coordinate that part. About had myself convinced to go stainless. . . . but I still really like white so we'll see. Stainless is quite a bit more expensive especially the one that doesn't show fingerprints.

The challenge for the week has been figuring out where to put the staircase to the storage/rec room space under the house. A bonus of almost 1000 Sq ft that we didn't know we would have so we paved it. We're roughing in plumbing, wiring, etc for future finishing by us  or another family.

Much to do this week before next Tuesday. I head to Hannah and Clara's for 3 days and then the Inside Passage cruise from Seattle for my college roommate, her 90 year old mom, and me. Lots of packing decisions to make. I do love a cruise tho because once unpacked that is my home for the week!

Reports from all puppies indicate that they are doing great. We sure miss them! Must try to get a bit more sleep. I'll stop by later to catch up on your lives. Hugs,

Karen C

Good morning Karen. Sounds as if your houses are definitely on the way. That's great.  I have nothing new to report today. Just the same old. Work, work, and work. I did speak with N for a bit yesterday. She is sounding stronger. I expect she will be scheduled for one of her surgeries in the next week. LP is stil with her mom. I know he is loving all of this grandma attention he has been getting. N's grandmother is expected from NYC sometime today to help out. This should ease some more stress from my son. He is working at his new job and really needs to  be there on time. Smooches to everyone. Have a great Thursday!

Karen - planning a new home sounds very exciting. Oh the decisions to be made. Try to enjoy this time and don't stress too much. I spent yet another day in bed. This must be viral because the antibiotics haven't helped at all. Tom reminded me that the doctor said he wasn't sure if this was viral or bacterial but because of my AGE (the creep) he wanted to be cautious.  Nothing much going on.  Annette

Karen,

Good luck selling your house.  The housing market is so terrible, but there's someone out there looking for exactly what you have.  Hope they find you quick.  My boss just put his house so he's been busy painting and packing and such.

So many decisions in building a new house.  I couldn't believe all the decisions we had to make just when we remodeled our kitchen in Dayton.  I couldn't deal with an entire house.  Then after our dream kitchen was done, we had to sell and move.  We want to remodel the kitchen here in Indy, but I just hate the thought of all those decisions again.

My boss and co-workers are gone today and tomorrow, so it's going to be a very pleasant day.  I need the quiet time to complete some very intense projects I'm working on.

Somehow I must have twisted my back yesterday morning because I've been in so much pain.  It's not my lower back like usual, but the middle of my back.  That's why I think I may just have turned wrong.  I sat in the hot tub twice last night and slept on the heating pad.  It feels better, but still hurts.  I guess I need to admit I'm getting older too.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Hi Karen! Hi all! Not much going on here, just that the weather is finally doing what it should. National Nursing Home Week today is a Hawaiian Luau, so more food to pass by. Yesterday I did have some chili and so that was OK. Work is hard foodwise as somebody is always bringing in something. I think I also have mentioned that they always have soup for employees. That is really nice of them and some of the soups are ok, but some are thick and creamy and I am sure not so good for me. I do pretty well staying away for those. Karen, picking out all the stuff for the new house sounds really fun but really overwhelming. Good Luck and have fun! The pics of the babies were so beautiful...the scrapbooker in me imagined all kinds of wonderful layouts and pages a person could make with pictures like those. Those babies are precious. Gorgeous! Take care all, Cheryl

Hi Karen, oh i love the idea of picking out all of that neat stuff for your house. Just remember pick what you really want now as later it takes more to replace it than to put it in a new home. I would love to do a new home so i could do stuff like heated floors especially in the bathrooms. and heated towel racks lol. but wouldnt that feel wonderful when you got out of the bath? also kitchen cabinets built for me and what i want. the right height and such. Maybe even solor heating and cooling.  You need to send us pictures as it goes along would love to see.  Have fun on your cruise to Alaska we want to do that but they are pretty expensive to do.  We do have some points to use up tho and soon so dont know when we will get to do it. with all of the surgeries that i have to have a re-hab...shoulder and left knee. shame they cant be done at the same time. lol but you need two good arms to use the walker and also to push yourself up and down into chairs. lol  Got all my labs back and they are all excellent  whoooo hoooo. know that what i am doing is perfect then. wont change anything i guess.  Well guess what it is doing here right now??? rain thats right, seems like that is about all it has done here this year. guess we shouldnt complain tho because for the two or three years prior it has been very very dry . making up for it this year. We have had in the state of Missouri this year 106 tornadoes just so far this year, last year all year long we only had 54 quite a difference . At least , Thank God none of them have come down into our little corner of the world.  Well got to get busy, need to call PCP and go see her about an order for Celebrex, my wl surgeon said it could be taken if not on a daily basis and take previcid along with it ...but if stomach started hurting , burning to stop taking it. I have been trying to muddle thru with taking tylenol and it isnt cutting it with all this rain we are having.  Talk to you all later.

Good Morning Karen & My dear OFF Friends! How exciting and yet overwhelming it must be to be building a new home and selling one you lived a quarter of a lifetime in ;)   Having been an apartment dweller most of my adult life, I remember how excited I was to be moving into my very own home, knowing that whatever I did to it would stamp it with my very own tastes, it's been 5 years now since I moved into it and I've done quite a bit and am happy with a good part of it, though I am now going to start a project that I've lain in bed dreaming of many nights; tomorrow I meet with the contractor who is going to put the new addition on the back of my home, which will then give me a more spacious bedroom with a wall of closet space, a sun porch/family room, with more closet space and my current bedroom is going to be turned into a master bathroom, in which I am incorporating a linen/utilitarian closet and washer/dryer hook up, as right now my basement houses the washer/dryer and I figure that one day those stairs might be tough to deal with, as they are narrow and steep.   My house is adorable. a one and half story bungalow, sort of a mini cape cod, set on a property that is 40 feet wide by 150 feet deep, the room demensions in the house are small and closet space next to none, so this addition, which will add 352 square feet, will go a long way towards achieving my goal of having a more private space to enjoy the sunlight without the bugs, having a master bedroom that can fit my entire bedroom set in, as my current bedroom is 10 x 10, which will become my new master bathroom, more closet space for all those new clothes I will be buying once I get to goal, not to mention that the new 2nd bathroom, will be bigger than the one I have now.   I have been spending lots of time, while at work, on the internet looking at vanities, tubs, showers and electric fireplaces and furniture that will serve the sun porch, as well as accommodate guests, window coverings, etc. . .  I think perhaps all I need now it to hit lotto (lol)!!! Nothing else too much is happening, but I am looking forward to today ending, as I am tired from not having had a good nights sleep all week. I hope you all have a great day and prayers, positive thoughts and hugs being sent out!  Laureen

Good morning Karen and Friends! Hope everybody is doing well.  Floyd, sorry to hear you've pulled your back.  I ache all over this morning - too many activities all week - sit down functions every night so far - meeting, meeting, hour drive graduation hour drive back home.  My rear end is numb! So many decisions to make when building a house - I'd be too confused and afraid to make the wrong choices.  I had trouble picking out wall paper.  Karen, if you're a collector of kiddie artwork, (and I know with those little beauties you soon will be) keep in mind magnets do not work on stainless.  When my grandparents remodeled years ago, she fell in love with the stainless.  Having 13 grands, she loved to display our artwork.  First piece she tried to place on the fridg slid down to the floor.  Last night after Ethan's graduation, son and former DIL presented me with a new framed picture of Ethan - late Mother's Day gift.  He's in coveralls holding a fishing pole and a fish.  He looks like Huck Finn!  ADORABLE!   Debbie
