Poultry  Dinner  Submitted by CHELLESHOCKED Recipe Added to SparkPeople.com (what's this)

Ingredients

4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts 1 cup salsa 1 package reduced sodium taco seasoning 1 can reduced fat cream of mushroom soup (condensed) 1/2 cup reduced fat sour cream

Directions

Add chicken to slow cooker. Sprinkle taco seasoning over chicken. Pour salsa and soup over chicken. Cook on low for 6 to 8 hours. Remove from heat and stir in sour cream. Serve with rice. NOTES: You may use half the packet of taco seasoning (I have started doing this to reduce sodium content myself) Some slow cookers cook faster than others. Mine is a true slow cooker (have had it over 10 years.) The newer ones cook a bit faster and you may have to adjust your cooking time based on that! You know these people who just can't leave a recipe as is? I am one of them. I just can't eat chicken breasts , they make me, so I will use thighs. And taco seasoning doesn't set too well either, so I think I may use enchilata sauce, but it sounds wonderful. You shared the keish( cant spell) recipe with us didnt you? I adore that!! Used spinach in it and even my "won't touch spinach" almost son-in-law loved it. I am making it again tonight.. yumm.

Hi Jean, the Spinach Quiche has become a main staple in my fridge I always have some on had as either a snack or a meal...I tried using turkey bacon in the last batch that I made because I saw Rachel Ray make it like that on her cooking show.  It was okay, but I found it came out too hard, so I won't be doing that again.  I sometimes top my with Corn Salsa that I purchased from the PA Dutch...not only is it spicy, but it only has 20 calories per serving. I've made a salsa chicken before using just chicken and salsa.  Bet the soup and sour cream tone down the sharpness.  Now why didn't I think of that! thanks, Debbie

This sounds good! I've made this kind of chicken with ranch dressing (low fat) and it's yummy.

I'd love to see your quiche recipe!
Joyful hugs,
Connie

I am going to try the  recipe today, I have a bunch of chicken legs and will use that instead of chicken breasts.  I used to love chicken breasts but since I had the lap band done I can't keep the white meat down, I discovered last week that chicken legs are ok for me.
