OT: Question about mystery boxes

It appears that both boxes are mia. Shall I send two more out ?

wonder how and why that happened???? both? that is really odd that both of them did it? hmmmmmmmmmm. i was wondering what happened to them, I know we could have driven around to all the addresses by now .lol. 

Mystery box #1 has not arrived to NJ yet, but the last person who had it was away when it got to their place and supposedly her husband was going to get it out, perhaps he never made it to the post office, or it's still in transit. . .    as for sending out two more, that is your call Darlene, maybe I'll get it in 30 years and make the postal news ;) Hugs, Laureen

I wouldn't send out two more boxes.  It doesn't really matter when they get there.... we're not on a timeframe... so who cares?  The better the surprise when it shows up.   I haven't even worried about it.  Guess the person that is sending to me needs to tell me it's on the way, tho, you know how I am about the postal service and those darned little boxes they cram stuff in.   Darlene, if you send two more out that's twice the expense for you and you will have contributed way too much and then people will get TWO boxes....  Nah, leave it alone... just find out who had it last and where they were headed. I didnt sign up for it because I figured that it would be too expensive for                            you Americans to send it all the way up here and over the border and dealing                     with CUSTOMS.   :{

how does that work with customs thru the mail???i have dealt with customs like to japan for a foreign exchange student--are they opening boxes now?

well they want the parcel clearly marked with the contents and the value.  They may even open it.

The parcel could sit at the border for a week..and THEN they will charge me for duties based on the value and the size of the parcel... and then when I send it back across the border, we go thru the same thing all over again!

sheesh...and that's WHY I didnt join in... *pouts*

i agree with janet's two cents - let it go--they will arrive....it is nice to stay on top of where they are somewhat just to know that they have been received...but you don't need to be worrying about them...and not having a time frame is fun too-as opposed to the secret pal thingy which drove me nuts.... i probly have enough "stuff" in my stash of secret  white elephant type giftys that i could start box 3 if needed but i think we should just let them play out their journeys..... also as janet said -in whatever words--you have put in enough darlene !rest it now...take a break...and have fun today at the fayre
