any Herbalife folk out here?

customers? distributors? i wanna know- i was approached by someone and wonder what your take is on the products? i have read a few labels online and not sure if they are "enough" for us??? i'm off to work now but will look back for discussion...thanx....oh--and i am well aware of vitalady and vitacost and bariatriceating etc etc etc --not rying to go there-just wanna tlak about this topic.....thx.

Hi Margo, I don't have any direct experience with Herbalife products other than to tell you I worked in their administrative offices many, many years ago.  It was 1984 I believe and that was when they were a fairly new company.  They had the distribution warehouse near here and had just moved.  Everything was in shambles and our job was to locate the hard copy of a purchase order as customers would call on the telephone with inquiries.  Back in the days of paper and not computers.  LOL Their large corporate offices - which is a huge tall building - is located near Los Angeles Internation Airport and every time we go that way we see it. The woman who used to lead our support group swears by the products. She brought in some samples one night. I thought they tasted terrible. She drinks them every day and and has excellent labs. Yeah, and she's young, long legs up to the moon, works out daily and is drop dead beautiful. Seems to work for her just fine.

I used them in the 1980's for wt. loss, which was only temporary. I ordered some of their products a couple of years ago, just prior to my surgery. If I remember right their sugar levels are elevated, and I personally would not recommend them for dietary supplements. There are other vitamins and supplements, whey proteins, etc. that will be of better benefit to you. I used their products before, but would not recommend them to RNY patients today. We had a person bring Herbal life to a couple of support meetings, and a few people examined the labels, but nobody purchased any at the meetings. Does that say anything? DAVE

My daughter used to sell the stuff.  I believe she became a distributor because she was on it herself.  She lost 80 lbs. on the stuff.  I couldn't stand the taste, but everyone is different.  Now that she is joining me on her own lap band journey she's planning on using that as her protein supplement.   I can ask her more about the stuff when I talk to her.

If your thinking of using them, make sure you read the labels, the protein bars are high in sugar alcohols, and the protein in the their products is soy, not whey.

Back in the 80's I used them mostly because a friend of mine sold them. She lost weight , I didn't suprise suprise.    I remember seeing a congressional hearing on different weight loss products and herbal life was one of those investigated I think.  I don't remember what the outcome was.  I might do some internet snooping and see what I can find. I did some searching last night and didn't see anything really negative about this product.
