Fibromyalgia
Wow Gena, Thank You for all your wonderful info. I've done the tens unit, it no longer seems effective. I did the hot pool treatments for a few month's. Insurance would only cover a few months of treatment. I to have done the bio feedback. If I 'm able to catch the flare up before it gets to bad, I've been able to ( Talk my way through the flare). I'm so glad I found that form of treatment. Pills and I don't get along.
We live in the High Desert of So-Cal. We do get into the 100's for a short few months. We are close to the foothills and so the winters seem to be getting colder as the years go by. I stay close to our wood burning stove most of the winter. Again , Thank you for your kind words, Peg

I'm so sorry you are going through this stuff. I've got to tell ya though your cosmic Cheerios and a girl ******g hit my funny bone. The reason it got me giggling is just this past week-end a girl friend and I got to talking about , How do girls stand up and pee? I know , one of thoes silly conversations. Any way I was telling her I just don't seem to be able to get the job done with out a potty. She was laughing and said, Ya just have to practice, so my question is where do you practice without getting all yuckie. My answer, TaDa, the shower, heehee, I will perfect this latest challange.
Hope you got a few giggles from my silly stuff, Peg

Oh my poor sister in red. I hate seeing you in such pain. You have such a kind and gentle soul you shouldn't have to deal with this. I can only offer prayers for your situation. I was on Lyrica for the neuropathy from the diabetes and had to come off it since I started swelling so bad. Please check with you doctor, he may have some good answers for you, sweetheart. I send lots of love and big gentle hugs to you.
Peg:
I have fibro and arthritis, twin killers, let me tell you. I get injections in my back three times a year and occasionally I get what's call trigger point injections which really helped the last time. At home, I take vicodin; the last flare-up (probably triggered by the stress over my finances) the pain doc's PA prescribed neurotonin to help me. It really helped, but it took a few days to kick in.
Heat helps, massage helps, antidepressants help (they regulate the serotonin levels, which help you sleep, and that helps the muscle tears heal). I used to find relief in the hot tub at the Y, but since I had to quit the Y, all I have is the heating pad, the massage pad and my shower. Oh, and the chiropractor helps too.
Sorry you're hurting. I'm a bundle of hurting spots too. The change in the seasons here always makes a difference ... if it would ever decide to change seasons! Warm one day, cool the next, rainy, windy, etc. It's the Midwest, what can I say? Hope you get some relief.
