ot; ok computer ppl plse help
I'm no expert by any means, Margo.
I just know when that happens at work alot of times the computer people come and they use alcohol to clean the wheels that feeds the paper into the system. You also want to look for a tiny piece of paper that might have gotten caught.
I hope it's an easy fix for you whatever it is.
Hugs,
Kathi
Sounds like you need a new printer. I had an HP one time that would not feed from the flat horizontal paper tray. The rubber wheel that grabbed the paper would feed about half of a full tray, but once the tray got lower, it failed to grab the paper anymore. Jams, I'm not sure about. Printers have come way down in price, unless you want a top of the line color one. You can get a b/w laser jet for under $100, and I commonly see them for around $50-60 in the Sunday newpaper ads. It's probably cheaper to buy a new printer than to pay the labor to repair your old one. If the printer is still under warranty, then contact the store that sold it. Otherwise, I'd opt for a new one. I use to have a tempermental fax machine, depending on the weather and humidity in the room also, sometimes the paper was too slick, sometimes too porius....it had a mind of it's own...
I have a cheapo HP color printer that I got at walmart for about $30....works great......doesn't care what type of paper it uses.....
