Just found this forum!

Hi Everyone,

I am so happy I found this forum.  I am 50+ and grandmother of 4 grandsons - any day now it will be 5 grandsons.  The excitement is mounting!!

 I am just getting started with my wls (lap-band) surgery process.  I have my class/screening on May 29...the day before my 53rd b'day.  (What a great present to give myself!)

I look forward to getting to know all of you better!

Welcome Donna, You have stopped by the best board around. everyone here is friendly, helpful and always willing to answer any questions you might have. Stick around, I have learned alot from our OFF sisters & brothers. I too feel this is the greatest gift I have ever given myself. I had my surgery on 9/5/07 started at 294 am down to my goal weight of 160 lost 134lbs. and feel like a teenager rather then a 52 year old who can't breathe, walk or just move around period. Welcome home, Donna. You have stumbled on the best board there is on OH. We have so much fun here and everyone is so helpful and knowledgable. We laugh and cry and share and love and rant and every other emotion that there is. I had my surgery on 10/8/07 and have lost 88.8 pounds so far. I feel so fantastic that words cannot describe my feelings. I am so grateful for everything. I am able to do so much more than I have been able to in so many years. I have learned so much from my OFF sisters and brothers and I am glad that I found this forum. Post often and let us get to know you. We almost share a birthday. I will be 54 on the 27th of May. Happy early birthday to you. And congratulations on the new grandbaby too. Bill and I are waiting for that in our life but Shawn (our son) and Carol (his wife) don't see things the same way we do. lol Oh well, when the time is right it will happen. Hello Donna and Welcome to OFF (over fifty forum). So glad you decided to join us!!!!! This is a great place to come for good advice, support, caring and of course humor. We always welcome any new members. Feel free to just join right in. I wish you well with your procedure. Keep us updated on how things are going.  4 boys, plus a new bay boy on the way, makes 5 wonderful grandsons!! Lucky you!! I have 5 grandchildren. 3 girls and 2 boys ages between 16 years and 18 months. They are my world!! I had Lap RNY in August 29,  2007. I think it is the best thing I ever did for myself. No more acid reflux, high blood pressure or Diabetes!! My knees hardly hurt anymore. I can climb stairs without huffing and puffing and almost passing out. Life is good!! I knew this would be a great place to 'hang out'.  What a warm welcome from everyone.     I feel like I can slip my shoes off and relax already.  I plan to start adding more info to my blog this weekend.  I'm going to try to read as many of yours as possible. 

I'm heading off to bed now.  We had a late church service tonight and I need to get (minus the zzzzzzzz...my CPAP is working great for that!  lol)

Hi Donna, And welcome!  This is the most kind, loving and supportive board board around.  Don't get me wrong though, if you need a swift kick, you'll get it, but with a nice soft slipper and not a boot. Again, welcome!
