Hi Jan and all, I am up earlier today as I have to take Tom to the airport. He is going to New Jersey to rewire his pop's house so his mom can sell it. Pop passed away last August. So I am here pouting that I can't go and have to stay alone in my scary house with a fraidy cat dachshund. I hate when he is gone...far away. He'll be back next Tuesday so that's not too long I guess. Well, got to start trying to look bee-u-tee-ful so I can head to work after dropping him at the airport. Take care, Cheryl

Cheryl, I give you permission to spoil yourself silly while Tom is gone! Go shopping, to a movie, scrapbook your heart out, take a long walk, stop and smell the lilacs, spend some time in one of those wonderful old book shops in the not so nice area of downtown Spokane (are they still there?) or. . . . make a trip to Kennewick and I'll keep you busy!

Hi Karen, Ya know, I know I have all this time I can spend on me but just moving from my spot is my challenge. Trying to figure out what I want to do and then getting up to do it is where I am stuck. I sit here and can't decide what to do...I think I am just really lazy. I will try to do something this weekend...besides napping. Yep, we like to go to Aunties Bookstore. I thought I might go there actually this weekend. Our lilacs are not quite blooming.... If I could wiggle my nose and blink myself to Kennewick, I would do it in a second! I am not much of a distance driver lately with troubles with my eyes. I love to drive though, I do my best thinking when I drive. How is the house coming along? Babies? Midge? Maggie? C

Good morning!!! I survived my tatoo.  Actually, it wasn't too bad.  There was an employee who kept laughing because he could tell when Steve hit a nerve, literally.  The young kid that designed it based on my wishes did a great job.  He blushed when I told him.  How cute!  My son doesn't know I got it done yet, I'm waiting to see if he notices it on Sunday when they come over.  Steve, the tat artist, had pictures taken throughout the process.  I will ask for copies when I go for my followup.   We're on lockdown at work.  I didn't see one single inmate yesterday.  It worked out well, though, because I got a phone call to do an EEO intake . . . a very sensitive one and the warden was waiting.   Today I'll see 3 inmates who have court deadlines, 3 tomorrow and 3 Saturday, then next week I can see a few more.  I HATE LOCKDOWNS!  No inmates to torment, and I get behind in scheduling.  But oh well!!!!  There is metal missing from a kitchen so searching has to be done.  Danged inmates!!! Guess I should go get ready for work!  Have a good day!  Happy Losing!
Joyful hugs,
Connie

Hi Jan and My OFF Family! Sorry to hear you're suffering with pain in the shoulder, the weather is probably a contributing factor. . . hope you feel better. It's a rainy day here today too and it's not looking like too good a weekend, oh well, just have to deal with it. The price of gas is ridiculous and how it's affecting every other area of our lives.  Don't know what the solution is, but hope that one comes sooner, rather than later.  Nothing too exciting here, today is my last work day of the week and I have a wake of a co-worker, who passed away on Monday, a very sad thing, she was in her late 40s, just diagnosed with cancer 2 weeks ago and gone so fast, I feel so sadly for her son, who is 16 and was the light of her life, as well as her being his, how tragic and every Mother's Day will be another reminder to him, please keep that family in your prayers, she was a very wonderful woman. . .   After that, I will try to make it home in time to get to my AA meeting, nothing much else to say, hope you all have a good day wherever and whatever is going on in your life! Prayers, postive thoughts and hugs, Laureen

Jan, sorry you're in pain.  Hope you get some relief.  Saw on the weather channel that your area had 5 inches of rain!  Sounds like our last two Saturdays.  We're expecting some isolated thunderstorms this afternoon, and high temps around 90!  The weathermen are saying record breaking heat by this weekend.  I'd rather we slowly glide into summer than have it smack us! Today should be FUN.  I need to ask da boss for vacation time in July.  I know he'll have a hissy since I was out 2 1/2 weeks on medical leave recently.  Too bad.  My airline ticket is already purchased - had to act fast 'cause plane was almost full.  George and I had talked about it, if boss said no, we'd lose the nonrefundable airfare.  After all the verbal abuse I've taken earlier this week, and knowing how miserable the boss is making me, George said tell him I'm taking vacation.  If he denies me my time, I should turn in my resignation and let them find someone to work with him.  That'll be no small task as not one clerical in this dept. will work with him.  What I've come up with is ask him for vacation, if he says no, wait and ask again in a few weeks.  If the answer is still no, wait until mid June and turn in my resignation.  That will give me a month to use some of my sick leave, and also put him in a bind to replace me.  Wish me well! Have a great day! Debbie

Debbie The idea sounds like a good one.  Sometimes ya gotta do what ya gotta do...  Maybe he'll decide he can't do without you (which he can't!), and offer you a big raise!  No matter what, you win.  And I'm sure you'll be able to find something else.  After all, we know you're able to put up with the very worst.

Win/win situation, as far as I can see...   Hang in there, and keep us posted. Candy
