Colonoscopy

I know someone on here already said to get checked.  By all mean do that.  I only had one episode of rectal bleeding and I was in my 40's.  I thought it was just nothing to worry about.  But I said something to my Dr. and he scheduled me for a colonoscopy.  I had a precancerous polyp.  It was very big and growing flat.  They had to take it out over a period of 4 colonoscopies, it was either that or have major surgery and have it removed surgically.  Being the chicken I was I opted for the colonoscopies.   My surgeon told me if I had waited till I was 50 to have a colonoscopy I would have been in real trouble. My husband has a genetic condition FAP and also familial juvenilive polyposis.  His mother and two sisters had it.  Both our kids have it.  My husband and son both had all but about 6 inches of their colon removed when they were 17. Guess I should get off of preaching but everyone over 50 should have a screening. Barb
