Reached my goal weight!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Aloha Kathi and a big congratulations for reaching your goal!! That is an awesome achievement...especially for those of us who have tried over and over in different ways to do just that.
I am struggling with exactly the issues that you are.........having reached goal a couple of months ago, and then dropping another 15 lbs. below that, and if I'm not very careful, it keeps falling off. My nut suggested that I make my protein shakes with 2% milk, or even whole milk, that I add peanut butter on whole grain bread (something new for me, too) with sugarfree jelly. I LOVE that treat actually so try to have that once a day. I buy the loaves of whole grain bread at Costco that are full of nuts and seeds and whole grains.......and I slice it myself. I also make my very healthy nut/flax seed muffins and have those in the freezer to pull out and nuke often.
I've added things like Skinny Cow ice cream sandwiches and occasional pasta. It seems like I can eat a lot and the scale stays stuck at around 160 to 163.......I should be at 175! (I'm 5'11" tall)
Instead of worrying too much about it, I am gloriously happy to be a skinny person rather than an obese person....most of the time. I'm worrying a little about how my son is going to perceive my "look" when I see him next Friday in Calif. He hasn't seen me this skinny for a long time.
It's wonderful that we have the OFF to come to for discussions of everything including this particular phase of WLS. It's a phase I never dreamed I'd be experiencing, but I'm so happy that you came in and brought it up again. I value everyone's input so much.
Good luck to you.......in all ways!!

HI Kathi,
Congratulations on a job well done!
From my chair, I think losing was the easy part....maintaining is really tough! I was doing fine until I got sick and lost 12 lbs, then went into the hospital for a few days and lost another 4, so I'm trying to regain, and believe me, it's not easy.
My nut told me (when I was maintaining) to add snacks like apples and cheese, apples and PB, almonds, cheese and crackers, etc, as a once or twice a day snack. It takes a little bit of a balancing act, but you'll soon find the right combo to stay where you want to be.
Take care,
Susan
Congratulations on reaching goal! What a wonderful feeling and a tremendous accomplishment!
I, too, continue to lose - just a little, but a bit of a loss each month. As long as my BMI stays above 20, I'm just going to ride it down and see where it decides to settle. I have added back some whole grains and other healthy foods.
Please let us know if you talk with your dietician, and if so, what he/she says.
