Hi All, Had a wonderful WOW moment on Saturday and wanted to share with everyone. You have all been so helpful whenever I have had questions, needed support or just a friendly hello. So my first thought was to let you know that I have reached my goal weight 160 on 5/3/08. I have lost a totsl of 134lbs. since my surgery on September 5, 2007. I feel terrific, like a teenager rather then someone 52 years old. One question I have if someone can tell me how to maintain this weight and not continue to lose, my family says I am already much to skinny. I will tell you I do not eat any meat, but eat tofu and other things to get in my protein. Any sugestions on how to continue what I am doing - eating right and exercising but not lose any more weight, I will take any help you can offer. I can never thank all of you enought for your help from the very start of this journey. God Bless each and everyone of you. KathiM

Hi Kathi....I will be watching this post for answers. I am already below goal and still losing....slowly but still losing.  I sent an email to my nutritionist ....she should get it tomorrow. I am trying to eat more at a time  as she suggested at the last support group meeting. I am also having a small snack between meals.I just can't eat any more then that. I hope I can find something that works soon. I weigh ten pounds less then my doctor wanted now. Hope someone has some good ideas. Hugs, connie d

Congratulations Kathi, Getting to goal is very hard work. Maintaining is similar, hard work and a new learning process. Do you work with a dietician? If so, make an appointment to discuss any changes. Each one has a different idea of how, what and when we should eat. No wonder this gets confusing. I had a wee bit of trouble when first trying to maintain. My surgeon wasn't concerned. He said to relax because at around 12 - 18 months there would probably be a gain. The dietician on the other hand, was more concerned. Since I don't hold much at one time we had to work on this problem. Together, we figured out all I need to do was add a bit more protein and good carbs at each meal and planned snack. An extra tablespoon of cottage cheese, more peanut butter on my apple, a few extra almonds, small increases but it worked. The best of luck to you. Enjoy your success. Annette

Kathi, Congratulations!    I'm doing a happy dance for you!  Hugs, Laureen

Congrats to you for reaching your goal! I have maintained my weight for about a year, but I really can't tell you how.  I do know that if I eat much more than I did to get to goal weight I gain very quickly.  So, I am really not eating much more than I did to lose in the first place.   Good luck to you. Kathi, Congratulations. No advice here as I'm still  trying to lose about 40 lbs and not at the moment doing that successfully. Best wishes to you.
