What we are eating, and what's eating us!!!! Sunday!
Welcome to Sunday,I spent Saturday sleeping! I would awake at small intervals, then nod back off. My body is swollen due to the predisone, and I am tired...so rest I did. I try to fight feeling guilty when I rest. I am so conditioned to work!

Have a great day,I will try and catch up on reading posts today. God bless!
Good Morning Ms. Linda...the body knows when to rest even if we don't. I hope you're feeling better and don't feel guilty you probably need it anyway.
Went to a family wedding yesterday, and it was like a family reunion...I hadn't seen any of those family members in over a year. The last time they saw me I was Super-sized...and they couldn't believe how great and fabulous (as one cousin kept saying) I looked. I think they were a little upset with me because...I don't know if people don't think or she just prepared what they thought people would eat. Everything and I do mean EVERYTHING was fried, full of cheese, and or mayonnaise. The turkey was even fried. The greens and strings beans were cooked in some type of pork. Before my surgery I would have eatten some of everything on that table, not this time. They had NOTHING there I could eat! Not even a tossed garden salad.
Knowing this side of my family and how they eat I prepared my emergency bag and left it in the car. After scoping out what was on the menu...I went out to my car got my bag and produced a container of envy! I had a tossed salad topped with grilled chicken & 3 shrimp...couldn't eat it all...but that's what I had. Everybody wanted to know oooohhhh where did you get the salad...I told them I brought it with me.
I have learned when going to someone else's home or affair to always carry my own STUFF. In my emergency bag I always carry: 1 EAS Protein Shake...1 Dannon Yogurt Smoothie w/1pk of protein mix...1 Pk
of Crystal Light...and cottage cheese w/peaches. If I don't need it then I eat it the next day. It's like my VISA Check, I never leave home without it.
My menu today....
B - EAS Protein Shake Chocolate of course
L - Spinach Quiche w/cucumber salad (leftover's)
D - Grilled Chicken w/green beans or tossed salad
S - Edy's Frozen Fruit Popsicle (2)
Hi Linda and all,
I am ready for my morning nap!
Linda, glad you slept yesterday. Hope you are feeling the healing affect of the sleep today.
I went off track this weekend, not horribly, but did eat chocolate and candy. Not lots. Not to worry...never buy the stuff or eat it at work when others bring it in. I just figured at the scrapbooking thing, I only go every couple of months to the 2 day thing; that won't ruin me.
Back on the regular good food.
Had fun...
Take Care,
Cheryl

Good morning to you sweet Linda. I am glad that you rested yesterday. That is something that we all need to do every once in a while. No reason to feel guilty about it. Remember that guilt belongs in the waste can!! It is garbage after all.
Food went pretty good yesterday. Nothing out of the ordinary. I am hoping that maybe it will be different today but I don't think so. It is always the same old same old around here with everything. lol Why should food be any different than anything else?

Such odd creatures we have become to feel guilty for taking care of our needs first. Take it easy today also, it is GOOD for you my Sweet Sister.
Although I've had a good week of grandma dates, today is for me and me alone. First I am attending a RNY reunion for our surgeon's patients. It will either be a complete flop or good fun. Doesn't matter, I get to dress up all lady-like and have no responsibilities.
Then I have been invited to a birthday party for one of my clients. I already know there will be no friendly foods there so I'll grab a bite from home. She will be pleased to see me, so that counts for everything.
Hugs to you
Linda, you must have really needed to rest. It's good to give in and give the body what it needs. That prednisone is awful, it does the job, but the side effects are something else. What did I eat today, too darn much.
B - boiled egg
S - protein shake
Went to movie and ate a small bag of popcorn, then stopped at Starbucks and had a mocha frappacino light (small one, sugar free syrup)
L - Taco Bell Mexican pizza, ate the whole thing
S - didn't need one
D - George insisted on frying the few fish he caught, had 2 small pieces, some spinach, and some garlic mashed taters and thought I was going to
S - not really hungry, but need protein, so probably a protein shake
Tomorrow is another day!
Good Morning Linda.....how is my favorite OH lady today???
Sounds like you got plenty of rest yesterday...good for you! Don't you feel guilty about it either. You deserve some much needed down time.
I pretty much did the same thing yesterday. I just hung out and enjoyed my day. I didn't even leave the house. It felt wonderful!!!
Not doing much more then that again today. I have a friend coming over to grill some steaks later but that is about it.
