TGIF-What's New?

It's 7:30 Central time and I can't believe I'm only the 4th person to post this morning......is everybody being slug-a-beds today? Bad weather predicted around the Natural State until early afternoon so I'll worry about the dogs until I get home from work tonight.  The old guy doesn't hear the thunder anymore and the younger one doesn't care about it, but, silly me, I worry there will be a tornado and I won't be here to get them into safety.  Talk about spoiled! I've been eating (grazing, actually) for the two weeks since surgery and have gained back the four pounds I lost that week.  It's kind of scary that I could put that much back on so quickly.  The conflict going on in my head is something.  One part says "go ahead and eat it, you need the calories", the other side says "what the hell are you thinking?". Of course, this is the only place in the world where I can express these feelings and have someone understand. Today starts the annual Toad Suck Days in a local town.  Please don't ask how it got it's name because if you ask a dozen locals you'll get a dozen different answers. Anyway, they have Toad Suck Queens......large, older women dressed up as beauty queens complete with huge GREEN wigs and sunglasses. They are a hoot for sure. Gary's going tomorrow, so I'll ask him to take some pictures and I'll try to post them. Hope everyone has a happy Friday!!!! Love and hugs

Susan

Good morning Margo and OFFers!  With all these sisters and brothers, I'm sure someone will have a cup ready to share with you.  Sorry, not me.  My coffee drinking is around 9:00 AM or 4:30 PM!  Don't know why, but that's when I enjoy it the most. I've got an appt with the surgeon this afternoon so he can take a look at my thumb.  Two days ago, it started swelling, itching, and turned red.  Before that, it was getting where I could bend it pretty good, not nearly back to normal, but good.  Now, I can barely bend it at all.  We'll see what's what.   Maybe it's wishful thinking, but after standing up to the boss Wed., he seems humbled!  What a change.  He came in smiling yesterday and was in a good mood all day.  I should have tried that nine years ago!  We'll see how he reacts when I tell him I have to leave early today. Have a great weekend! Deb

Good Morning Margo and everyone........... It is a rainy dark day today....UGH...I need sunshine!!!!! Temp is 42 degrees now with a high today of 49!! Same for tomorrow. I have a couple hours of work to do for my job this morning then I am off until Monday......yeeehhaawww!!! Nothing new going on around here. I plan on staying home this weekend and resting my voice. I have had laryngitis since last Friday. Because of all the talking I have had to do it just isn't improving much. I need to just plain shut up!! Not an easy task for me! Hope you all have a terrific day. Hugs and prayers to those in need. Love and hugs....connie d

Hi Margo and all, I have today off and am going to a Friday Saturday scrapbooking thing with my sis. They provide food but lots is stuff I stay away from so will bring some of my own. Dtr, Beth, surprised us and came home last night for the weekend. So now I feel guilty I wont be here for most of it. Oh, well, I will get over it. Yep, there I go, I'm over it! She is going to spend time with dad. So they can have a father dtr weekend. She'll go to church with us Sunday too. Her first year of college is almost over and I can't believe it. I will try to post a couple of pics of my little drama girl. She is still a bit "freaked" out as she says when she sees me and especially when she hugs me. She is kinda missing my old fat shoulders I think as she says my shoulders are too little to lay her head on. She is proud of me and glad I've gotten healthier but she has only known me as a size 22. So, she kinda thinks she has lost her "mommy." Work is going really well. After almost two months people are still telling me how happy they are that I'm back and I also hear that those who were skeptical that the new social worker was going to be a really good one are also pleased. They had gone through quite a few the past couple of years and the stuff I attend to was in a huge mess.  This is a huge boost to my ego I have to say. Things are crazy and very busy but I finally have it under control I think. Hope these aren't famous last words. The weight is still coming off but so very slowly. That is OK though as I feel more confident it will stay off. I think I am averaging about 3 lbs a month. I really would be happy at this weight but will keep going till I stop, or Doc tells me enough. I am about 8 lbs from MD goal. Debbie, hope your thumb gets better, Kathi I was so happy to hear your husband's med is making a difference. Annette, will you come over and help me with my scrapbook room? Margo, are you feeling mooey? Cute! Everyone...have a great Friday! Thanks for all you say, write, pray and do! Cheryl

Hi again, Just added a couple new pics of the family. Beth has taken out the "nose ring" since picture was taken. Thank God!  when she saw the pic she decided she didn't like the ring. C

Daughter and MOM are both darling.  Your daughter is gorgeous. Ah, youth! Nose ring or not she's a cutie. As my hubby said about Erin when she turned 12, "We're locking that one up until she's about 30!" K
