Well, I know it didn't cure my aches and pains. I tell everybody I was told if I lost weight, my back and knees wouldn't hurt ... they still do ... if I had the knee replacement, the knees wouldn't hurt ... they still do. They lied to me! Well, arthritis is a progressive disease (and I brought it on myself with the weight and the fact I'm so damned clumsy ... but at least with the knee I got a nice trip to Alaska out of it via worker's comp!)
Hope they can fix your innards this time. The hernias sure hurt. I had an umbilical one (non-WLS related, in fact, done pre-WLS, by my bariatric surgeon's mentor). It wasn't causing any damage inside but it sure hurt outside. Just trying to zip up pants or get in and out of the car was really painful. And I lived with it for two years until I had enough (a) sick time at my current job; and (b) good enough insurance.
Get better, girl! No more lifting Melanie. I know you don't clean the litter boxes, so you don't have to worry about that (I have to haul in 40-lb. boxes of litter myself, but you have Tom!)
Eileen,
Skinny people get arthritis too. My daughter's MIL had her knees done about the same time you did - she still hurts too. That surgery doesn't seem to be a cure all for everyone.
I don't get sick time because I am part time. Fortunately, the agency has been understanding about my time off.
That kitty litter is heavy. I lug it into the grocery cart then into the car where it sits until Tom comes home. If he wasn't here I'd have to buy a 5 lb bag and make 8 trips.
