Good Morning Aime and everyone...... Sounds like a few of us have had some wonderful grandma time this weekend. I sure have had a great time with mine!! Jamie took Nic up to the hospital early this morning for his chemo and radiation. Grace is still sleeping so it was decided I would stay home with her so she could sleep in. I love getting her up in the morning...she is so lovable and loves to cuddle for awhile when she first gets up. I love that time with her!! Nic has lost almost all his hair over the weekend. I took him shopping for new hats....we had so much fun trying on all kinds. We laughed until we almost wet ourseves!! Travis, Nics dad, had Nic shave off his hair last night. He always does that for Nic when his hair falls out. They were having a great time doing it. Jamie video taped the whole funny proccess. Nic thinks it is cool that his dad does that for him....I am pretty proud of my wonderful SIL too!! My daughter Carrie called yesterday to tell me that Joe and she has set their wedding date....August 23rd, 2008. We all just love Joe. He will be a wonderful addition to our family!!! The kids are all happy...they love Joe too. Now they will have five children all together. Carrie's three and his two. Joe's daughters are Jessica 16 and Shianna 13.....they are such sweet young girls. With Carrie's Kyleigh 16, Amanda 14 and Lucas almost 10 they have quite a bunch!! Everyone gets along really great so it will be good for all of them. Lucas feels out numbered...he said he will have to stick with Joe and pick on all those girls!! They do a great job of it too!! I love, love, love my family...can you tell?? I have to head for home today...gosh the time went fast!! It will be a long sad drive back to home. I hope to stop in at Carrie's and have dinner with them on the way back. I miss them too!! Everyone have a great day!! Hugs, connie d

Good morning Aime and Friends!  Aime, it sounds like you are totally taken in with LP, I know the feeling!  How can we help but fall in love with those grandkids!  I posted about our weekend on the What's new Sunday post, but wanted to stop in to tell everyone good morning and see that my friends are doing well.  I had grandma time too!  Isn't it great!  I miss my little "Monkey"  He wears us out with his constant questions and energy, but he's so much fun to have around. Aime:  Grandkiddo weekends sound like heaven ... especially to someone who is not blessed with offspring!  Thank goodness for grand nieces and nephews!  Fourteen hour days?  eeeek!  What kind of classes are you teaching? Melissa:  Early mornings are sometimes wonderful and sometimes exhausting.  They're exhausting for me on Mondays ... Let us know how the line dancing goes!  Do you have to know the difference between your left and right foot? Lightswitch:  Congratuations on the end of the school term!  I know from friends how much you must be looking forward to summer break!!  Your grandkiddos sound like such a joy! Annette:  I hope your noise subside!  The external is tough enough without internal static!  Do you think Susan's suggestion of gas-x would help? Susan:  I am just two weeks post op and with each bite (still in soft food phase), I wonder if this this will be the time my tummy rebels!  So sorry to hear about the cutting board ... aren't cutting boards supposed to outlast marriages? Grammylew:  Your day sounds like it has a very nice rhythm.  nan Kathi:  Sorry to hear about hubby's woes.  I hope the pulmonary doctor gives you good news! Karen:  I, too, was in Seattle last week and love the surrounding snow peaked mountains!  Wow!  Building a new house!  Sounds fun, and traumatizing at the same time! Connie:  Grace sounds so adorable!  Nic sounds courageous and wonderful!  Congratulations on the upcoming wedding. Cheryl:  Hi fellow Washingtonian!  Have a great week. Judy:  Gosh!  You are in that space between endings and beginnings!  Sounds like the next chapter of your life will very exciting!  Good luck on the job hunt and settling into to your new environment.  Rick's brother sounds like a kick! I am at the half way point of my one month of sick leave from surgery.  It was really too much time to take off as far as being sick however it's nice to be away from the daily drama.  I work in child protection and am just glad I don't work in Texas!   nan

Good morning to all my OFF family. This week end sprouted wings and flew by. I swear that it should still be Saturday and not Monday.  It sure sounds like a lot of you were in Grandma mode this week end. i am still waiting for that but I have come to the conclusion that it is going to come when it comes. I have no control over it (that is hard for a control freak like me!) and so what can I do.  It started out sunny this morning and it is now cloudy. I looks like it is going to rain pretty good this morning. I hope that it goes back to being sunny but that is doubtful. I am just going to stay home today and do some things around the house. Later tonight I have bible study and I am planning on going unless it rains. I hate driving in the rain. I am going to stop for now. This comcast internet is running so slow I think that a snail could go faster than it is moving today. This is the high speed internet that I am paying for-yeah right. I hope that you all have a wonderful and blessed day today. Meet you back here later on. I am sending lots of Monday love and hugs to all.

It's not what you gather, but what you scatter
that tells what kind of life you have lived.

Good Morning.. I am FREEZING !!! I walked off the elevator at my floor and it took my breath away it is so cold. 52 degrees !! What have we done to deserve this torture? Isn't it interesting how many times our experiences mesh. I also got in some extra grand sweetie time this weekend. Since my granddaughter was born ( she is 14) I had her every weekend. Since I met Chuck he has demanded so much of my time, I still get them most Saturday nights ( there is a 6 yr old grandson added now) but usually it is not until 8 or 9 at night so we don't have a lot of fun time ..and I miss it!! Saturday I told Chuck I was not coming up  and I got the kids earlier. Tonight I have to go to a County meeting about an hour and a half east into Iowa. I am taking Faith with me ( granddaughter) we are leaving early and going to stop and spend some time in Elk Horn Iowa, they have a Danish community with a windmill and a spring fower festival this time of year so I am hoping the flowers are all out. I love to do that kind of thing. I just wish the gas  wasn't so terrible. I will have to pack us a dinner cause I can't afford both gas and food, no fair. It is suppose to be 10 degrees warmer tomorrow ( 60s) and up another 10 degrees wednesday( 70s) I hope I don't freeze before that happens.. Brrrrrrrrrrrrrrr. ( I think they should send us home with pay, but who am I?)

Aloha OFF sisters and brothers!

LOVE the grandma stories this weekend!! My time is rapidly approaching when I get to go see my grandbabies.........Brock (3), Brady(2) and little "hat trick" who is going to "pop" very soon. They still don't have a name for him...but my son is dead set against another "B" name...so who knows!

I was the white tornado this weekend.......borrowing my neighbor's vacuum cleaner with a hose on it and getting behind entertainment center, hide a bed, etc. I did indeed vacuum up at least one full kitty worth of hair, if not more. I made up the hide-a-bed and emptied out a couple of dresser drawers for my SIL and nephew to use while they are here.

My son called and they are frantically trying to move into their new house..... and it's not easy with two little toddlers under foot and my DIL 8.5 months pregnant!! I talked to both my grandsons.....and they chatter like little magpies with excitement and I catch about every 20th word with Brady (the 2 year old) and every other word with Brock (3.) Mostly I heard "tutu.....we can play football and read whale stories, and watch movies!!" This is going to be one busy and pooped tutu I have a feeling!!

Thankfully the belly pains have subsided and I have actually gained back a few lbs. to 163 from 158. That is a good thing. I've been adding milk to my protein shakes instead of water, and eating whole grain bread with crunchy peanut butter and 100% fruit jelly. All of that seems to go down just fine.

Today I'm taking comforter to dry cleaners, doing other errands and continuing to organize and pre pack for trip to the mainland. My kitties are sensing something is happening and are sticking close to me. They DON'T like change!! An open suitcase is just a new place to play for them...but I think they remember the times when I've left before for a week or 10 days. I would travel MUCH MORE if I didn't have two little furry lovebugs to consider.

OK..enough time playing with my OFF family. Time to get busy. Sending hugs for all of you and especially happy for the tutus who got to play with babies this weekend!

Aloha nui loa,

Maui Karen

Hello All-
Today I'm just putting one foot in front of the other it seems. Helping DH finish our unfinished basement. When we get that finished we'll put the house up for sale and move on down to AZ to have a new house built...without any stairs. I'm rather tickled to be moving into an 'active adult community.' So many groups to join, so many sports to take part in or watch. Yeah yeah I know it'll be hot in the summer. We're thinking we might get jobs in Yellowstone or Glacier Park during the summer...much cooler and easier to visit one of my sisters and several friends. Anyway, today is one of those days when my name is "Honey, hold this."
Hope all of you have a good day!

 Cheers, Rusty

Hi Aime and everyone: Everyone was busy with grandkids over the weekend; well, I have no grandkids, but I do have grandnephews, and so I was busy one day with them. Lots of driving or sitting in the car, but it was worth it on Saturday to see Ben and Sam and be at their birthday party. Ben turns 8 tomorrow; he's 4-foot-8 already and 97 pounds. He's so big, he comes up to his mother's shoulders (but then he was a 12 pound baby); Sam turned 4 the day after my birthday, April 12. Sam was so shy last year, woudn't even look at me, now he was sitting next to me, talking to me, looking at my photos on the camera. Unfortunately, by the time he was supposed to open the great present I bought him (a pirate book with all sorts of fun things to do), he was too busy playing with the remote-controlled snake my brother, his grandpa, had bought for him and wasn't interested in anything else. Oh well, he'll look at it later. His mom liked it at least. Ben liked the books and the Space Center t-shirt I got him. They are so much fun and talkative. Sam has to play with everything Ben has, and Ben is afraid Sam is going to break it (haven't I heard this somewhere before? I was the one who was going to break everything my siblings owned!).  But to get there, it was a 4-hour drive to my mom's, then an hour drive to my brother's; my sister-in-law Margaret drove us to Andrea's house (so I could save gas and rest my knee). We stayed there until almost 7; then it was anohter hour back to Ed and Margaret's; another hour back to my mom's; I stayed overnight at mom's and drove back Sunday late morning/early afternoon. I was pooped and in a lot of pain. I was still in pain last night and didn't sleep very well. Kept waking up and finally popped another vicodin. I don't know if this new med is working all that well. Kitties were happy to see me, however.  This morning, I had to go downtown to the hospital and get an injection for the bone scan ortho doc has ordered (and which he said "but I don't think we'll find anything.") Then this afternoon I had the bone scan. Interesting process. The hospital is just down the street from work. So I got here a little early, but that was all right, because today is the first day of our semi-annual book sale, and I like to get in on that on the first day (we bid on things, and the earliest, highest bid wins; I do my Christmas/birthday gift shopping here).  On other matters, I decided over the weekend that I was reverting to some old bad habits (overspending, overeating, emotional eating), plus I was getting moody and depressed and I needed some help; so I made an appointment this morning with my psychologist. I see her next week. Also have contacted the mortgage company that contacted me last year about buying me out of bankruptcy; they couldn't do it last year because I owed too much; maybe it's feasible now. The woman called me this morning when I was out, so I returned her call, but she didn't call me back when I was home.  To all the Dallas sistahs who e-mailed me while I was gone this weekend, I'm sorry I can't e-mail you back from my ameritech.net account unless I go to a library because I still don't have my computer back and the e-mail compose or reply function won't work from work (don't know why); but you know where I am and what's been going on in my life. I love you all and miss you all and would love to have another get-together, if my funds permit. But not for awhile, because I'm really strapped for cash right now. Have a good day.
